As an ex debian and arch user I fully agree, linux is a piece of shit. I eventually went back to windows 7 without the spyware updates. I really tried to make linux work but it's just too fucking broken to be used as a desktop OS.

I'm actually getting a 1151 motherboard with HDMI 2.0 and Skylake for muh 4k HEVC on Linux because the Intel drivers are superior. It'll be an expensive HTPC though.

I used Fedora/Ubuntu on my main machine, gaming wasn't really a problem, even with an AMD GPU.
It's nowhere as smooth as Windows, the font on most games for some reason is trash, but for the most part, the games do run, albeit worse than Windows. Which is pretty much expected.

Arch user here. There's a lot of issues with Linux. Can't play 400 files of videos in vlc. I loop my TV shows at night and when I wake up my entire computer is locked and frozen. No response when trying to force exit i3 and close all processes. Just one of many things.
Windows just werks.
