5400 are usually slower, have slower access time and random reads. Using flash mem for caching will help reduce access time for small amounts of data.

Not a game, it's the configuration for the LEDs on my laptop
It was created because vista required a lot of RAM and if you didn't have enough of it you would start paging to the hard disk which made everything horrifically slow. Flash memory is faster than a hard disk as far as random read but it has very limited writes and will fail very quickly under a lot of use. It's not a replacement for actual RAM
