Theoritically speaking, what would be the best switch for programming?

Probably blue as the audible click for the actuation point should lead to less typos.

rubber dome

reds

Reds.

Blues cause clickclciclcickclick

I'm not an expert, but using blues in an office environment(provided you don't have an office with a door) is legally allowing your coworkers to kill you at any time.

>>53437899
god not this again

rubber dome with springs

Honestly probably browns or reds. Browns because they are pretty quiet and you don't really need to hear the click to know your input is processed.

Reds because it's the simplest/lightest.
>>
Clears. Don't use clicky switches unless you have your own office, people hate that shit
>>
I've used all of them and I will state that reds are the best, simply because they have the least actuation force.

Definitely Red.
>>
Blues are fun, browns are mushy, reds are fast, blacks are stupid

what switch is closest to the touch and feel of membrane, and silent at the same time? does this exist, does this question even make sense?
>>
>>53438547
probably topres
>>
>>53438547

Browns

Depends on your type speed. If you're slow you are better off with a normal keyboard, as you may be prone to resting on the keys and typos that can be avoided with heavy keys (changing your mind halfway through a key stroke).
If your alright with that stuff, probably go with the blue or brown. red is silly light, and will generally result in swipe type.

Blues are a bad meme, don't fall for it like I did. My friend's reds feel so much better to type on.
>>
>>53437899
Programmer here. Trust me, you want blues.

the DIY stuff on geekhack is pretty sweet

I have blues for general use and gaming. Typing anything on them is a dream and I'm not a "competetive gamer" enough to care about travel time of keys in games. They are loud though. Loud enough that I had to set my chat to push to talk rather than open because I feel like a wanker if everyone can hear me playing/typing. The keys are loud enough to be picked up by my mic.

I have a tendency to rest my fingers on the key(s) when gaming/thinking so I feel reds are top easy to accidentily press because of the low actuation.

Blacks seem poontless overall as they're pretty much just stiffer reds.

Browns feel decent to me but if forced to choose between them and blues, blues hands down.

plz poo in the loo pajeed

Reds with o-rings are objectively the nicest switch for typing.
They're quiet as fuck and offer the tactility of rubber dome without the mushy dome deformation stage on the down-stroke.

?????

MX clears obv

At home, blues or buckling springs
At work, browns with O-rings.
>>
>>53437899
Blues, matias quiet click, ergo clears, or topre.

I really like the feedback of blues.
It just...feels right.

someone hasn't tried gateron clears
>>
>>53442441
gateron clears are so light you can press them just by lightly resting your fingers, the resistance is so weak that the the keys take forever to reset and don't even follow your fingers on the upstroke

Reds user for like 4 years.
Definitely not reds. Too light causing bottoming and mispresses.
