The only reason I don't use it for other files is because I have a larger HDD for media storage. It's not a bad use, as SSDs aren't prone to failure like some people seem to think they are.

3 ssds. 120gb as boot. 250gb as program drive. 500gb as game install drive. 2x 1TB mech disks in RAID 0 for work space. All major storage such as movie, music, misc files are on a 4TB drive in my file aerver shared over the network to password users only. That 4TB is backed up incrementally to another 4TB.

got one from best buy, it's fine.
best buy had PNY brand 240 GB drives for $60 last week so i bought one for my other pc.
i've got intel and adata, both are fine. you can catch the adata 480GB drives on newegg on sale.
ssd prices are just not coming down enough to justify anything larger than 480GB tier imo.

Yea I know but the 120gb is my first ssd and I'm loath to let it go. Samsung 840 (non pro) with almost 4 TB written to it. Windows 7 boots in under 12 seconds to the desktop. Everything is speedy and responsive. I cant justify Not using it.

I do, 128gb in an old thinkpad.
It's not that fast but every computer will become immediately fast enough, my main desktop with its 7200rpm WD blue looks so slow now.
