The failures usually don't hurt anything, and if it installs several versions, it increases the chance that one of them is right. (Note: The 'yes' command and '2>/dev/null' are recommended additions.)
Thoughts?

What's the point? If you really want something like this you could use the AUR.
I think you'd rather install something the right way, find dependencies you need, configure to suit your needs, rather than throw a universal installer at it.
lol open sores think they can escape the dependency hell

This is a joke or bait
does the script actually work?
>>53425357
make install requires sudo
What a fucking poser.
I bet he doesn't even use half of those package managers.
>>53425357
Missing the only actually relevant package managers: guix and nix.
>>53426022
sudo ./install.sh

I saw this on reddit too OP. What's your username?

That's the artist behind xkcd's handwriting.
Where is apt install
>>53426022
>make install requires sudo
It doesn't if you are always logged in as root :^)
I do this.
We already got this.
>>53427762
Except... Windows does not have a package manager, and therefore InstallShield is not universal (it works with a single system).
>>53425357
maybe check for each if they exist? that thing has been invented you know?
The git & cd & make shit wouldn't work and it's a horrible idea to use this.
>>53427795
OP script doesn't work on Windows
>>53427551
Guix can easily be installed on other distros as well.
>>53427610
>Oh no, I typed sudo twice!
So what?
Script will work. It will probably break something too. Also it's a joke.
Use puppet, chef, ansible, or salt, if you want to do this the right way.
