You can't fix social anxiety/phobia. You can only contain it and learn to cope with it to an extent. It will never go away completely. So "fixing" it can easily become a timesink and you end up spending most of your time on trying to fix it. I think anon can make a better contribution by dedicating his time to becoming a leet programmer for open source.

this.

>>53408686 should probably spend his time and energy fucking off. you have no idea if the social anxiety is unwanted, nor the complexity of the issue. there is extremely little knowledge on the subject and an entire life may not be enough to solve it.

even if we suppose he does 'fix' his problem he will still find his social skills to be extremely lacking due to a lack of experience. this is in addition to an uphill battle against all kinds of awkwardness as he has to learn and experiment with social dynamics at a much older age than is socially appropriate. meanwhile, op could have just worked efficiently on stuff by himself in peace and possibly accomplished quite a bit. instead, you suggested he work towards (at best) normalcy.

Yes you can, it's not a real fucking thing unless you have GAD/OCD and it's manifesting specifically socially.
I used to think I had it, but spend a few days applying for jobs with a stack of resumes or getting drunk and talking to girls at parties will fix it. The rejection will temper you. You just have to override the anxiety until the point where that feeling of overriding it is natural, and you no longer care.
