Ive been wondering /g/, why are you guys always so paranoid about the government spying on you? The patriot act expired last year and the Freedom Act took its place, protecting your rights to privacy and making sure the bulk data collection the NSA does is legitimate and reasonable
>>
Policy isn't necessarily practice
>>
>>53406398
Cause I break laws daily.
>>
/g/ is full of closet pedos, it's evident in like every fucking thread.

Seriously no other reason for these scum of the earth types to be so paranoid.
>>
>>53406441
OP here,
wouldnt that be your fault if you were being watched? Why does /g/ blame windows all the time?
>>
>>53406433
Precisely.

>privacy isn't being breached by the government
>who told you
>the government.
>>
>>53406398
i'm not usaian, so you can go fuck yourself
>>
>>53406486
>fault
Can you blame retards for their stupidity? The average person is incapable of making a choice that doesn't serve Microsoft's best interest.
>>
As a Canadian I do not enjoy it when agencies like the NSA violate my right to privacy. It should also be none of their business what a citizen outside of the jurisdiction is up to. They should pay attention to the hogfuckers they have in their own backwards country.
>>
>>53406398
>paranoid

It's not being paranoid when it's true.
>>
>>53406398

nazi germany made lists and look how that ended.

government only exists to protect rich people and enslave the poor.

laws only exist to keep us poor, and force us into a class system that removes our basic human rights and puts us on the level of animals.

obviously anyone who supports a system like this is either part of the problem, or unaware.
>>
the anti-freedom act did nothing to protect privacy.
> making sure the bulk data collection the NSA does is legitimate and reasonable
that's another way of saying legalizing and justifying what they were doing illegally.

>Ive been wondering /g/, why are you guys always so paranoid about the government spying on you?
information is power. imagine an agent that knows exactly what you've purchased with your credit cards, your porn habits, website habits. has records of every phone called you've ever made.
now imagine that person doesn't like you and is in a position of power. what could they do?

nothing good for me. bad? plenty of bad things they could do with it.
>>
>>53408065
That's literally exactly the opposite of what government is for. Without government or law the ones in control would be the strongest. And those with the most money or resources are the strongest.
>>
>>53406398
Fuck off NSA shill.
>>
>>53406398
I'm more paranoid with windows spaghetti code. That shit lets the NSA spy on us with ease
>>
>>53408255
what it's intended for and what it's actually used for currently aren't the same, naïve anon.
>>
Mass surveillance was bad before 9/11.
It has only gotten worse since then.
And no, the expiration of the patriot act changes nothing since there are things like 12333 which predate it by decades and can be used to justify spying.
Just say what you're doing is counterterrorism and it's legal. Just catch all international traffic and say it's foreign intelligence because it leaves the country and that's legal.

Nothing to hide, nothing to fear.
Privacy advocates are all secretly pedophiles ;^)
>>
>>53408343
cause this attitude we got you on list """anon"""
>>
>>53408600
You're an idiot if you think the NSA makes "lists" of special people. In fact there are lists holding informations about persons, the problem it's collection informations about ALL people and this is the whole point why the NSA is evil.
>>
>>53406398
Because FISA courts are still a thing...
>>
>>53406398
It's not about spying, it's about my bandwidth
For example, Windows 10, all those details sent adds up and eats your bandwidth, and I'm living in village so internet is not 10mb/s here

Don't be silly, they're not a monopoly.
DARPA, the military, and the CIA have their own spying programs, not to mention GCHQ and other spy agencies :^)
>>
gaddammit /g/ is there any fucking program out there in the world that:
- doesn't give your ip to the people you chat with (e.g. Tox)
- doesn't require you to sign up with personal info (e.g. Telegram)
- doesn't put you on government lists (e.g. Tor and Tor derivatives (Ricochet))

and still has not-shit secure communictions?

>- doesn't put you on government lists (e.g. Tor and Tor derivatives (Ricochet))
Given the choice between being on a government list for using Tor and having the NSA store enough data about my browsing to completely replicate my entire browsing experience for non HTTPS websites for a week and store more general metadata for every website that I've connected to for a year. I'd take the list for Tor. Keep in mind the more people who use Tor, the less getting put on that list will mean.
>>
guys cisa was passed in December. companies are legally immune from sharing all info with the govt
>>
>>53406398
Are... Are you serious? They've already overstepped their bounds before and performed appalling breaches of privacy but now they promise they won't do it any more and we're supposed to just believe them? Does that really make sense to you OP?

Any proof?
