This has happened before. They got rud of so many people in the early and mid 1990s. You have to understand one thing about IBM. 98% of IBM is people running around in offices getting nothing accomplished, exactly as is depicted in Dilbert. The remaining 2% does two things: billing systems and inventing things. IBM makes all its money on patents and its billing systems. People and departments who get laid off are not from the 2%. IBM is not in danger, financially.
