Noob PC building question - this graphics card has two power connectors. Should I connect with two separate power cables to two separate holes in the PSU or should I use two connectors on one power cable?
>>
>>53393635
One power cable

it doesnt matter desu
>>
>>53393635
You can do it either way.

If you have a cable with a splitter and you dont mind it looking messy, it's fine.

Personally, I use 2 seperate cables from my modular PSU just because it looks neater. The grahpics card will just draw what it needs. Regardlessly of daisy chaining.
>>
it shouldn't matter

but two seperate cables is technically safer
>>
You need to have 4 cables mergin into one and then splitting into 2.
>>
>>53393635
Depends on PSU
Some have separate channels and limits per cable/output, some basically have internal splitter.

Two separate cables.

Part of the reason for using 2 connectors is to maximize total wire cross-section and minimize power losses in the cables.

OP here again. I have a new issue. Even with two power cables or a single power cable plugged in, the monitor won't recognise the graphics card's HDMI slot. The motherboard's debug light flashes red once for an extended period as the machine turns on. What could this mean, /g/? Thanks for the help so far.

Your ram isnt in right m8
>>
Check manual?
>>
>>53394002
A red LED light near the 24-pin power connection lets you know that protection is activated to prevent overvoltage and short-circuit damage of the CPU and other components.
>>
>>53394002
jam the hdmi into the onboard hdmi hole
>>
>>53394022
Epic meme. My computer itself can turn on fine, it's just the display that is hindered.

>>53394062
So does that mean the PSU has too weak a wattage? It's 650W...
>>
>>53394098
no i assume its supposed to do that just do
>>53394097
>>
>>53394002
Don't you need the driver first for the HDMI ports?
>>
No, it might start at 800x600 or something but should work.
>>
>>53394142
Do the other connections work though?
>>
>>53394161
If you are using Windows, yes everything should work out of the box. Windows comes with graphic drivers.
>>
>>53394002
Make sure they're pushed all the way in. Might not be making contact. Sounds like it's PCI-E power issue since the mobo has a red light.

However, look at your mobo manual, they'll have all the post related issues there.
>>
>>53394203
I'll give it an extra push and will report back. Thanks for the help.

>>53394216
There's a little clip, if that clicks into place you should be good as far as that goes.

nr: is anyone getting these fucking catchpa prompts?
