>How thew fuck do people still get viruses?

"BUT, THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY'RE DOING!"

Then, they should be made to know or they shouldn't be allowed near technology.

You have to have a license in order to drive. Why not the same for a computer or smartphone? Both are damned near integral for modern life, so why not?

You cant kill someone with a computer without being skilled
>>
>>53367555
I don't know, I've gone out of my way to try to get viruses (on a virtual machine) and the closest I got was a pre-installed free trial of Norton Antivirus.

You can't run people over with a computer unless you try really hard.
>>
>>53367607
Um, have you seen Fox News?
>>
>>53367616
No, I haven't
Is there something important there?
>>
>>53367609
My gf works for a local real estate company as an office admin and every day, her agents come in with viruses, mere days after having cleaned them off. She knows most of the tricks of the trade when it comes to that stuff.

I'd say it's porn, but it's mainly old ladies.

Currently using avira and everythings fine.

File hosting sites that have ads that spoof themselves to look like the download button are to blame.
>>

Honestly, why not?

Having a computer is a privilege and one that can really fuck you up if you are stupid enough.

People nowadays don't have the reverence for these devices that they should.

Granted, you can say Darwinism and all that, but when your grandmother gets scammed out of thousands of dollars and blames you because YOU "put a virus on her computer" the last time you fixed it, then what?

>Fox news
Stupid europoor doesn't know the f difference between Fox news and local Fox Affiliates.
>>
>>53367690
A lot of it too, is the adobe-esque shit where they bundle adware or malware in with programs.
>>
>>53367731
Oh, c'mon, let's not act like Fox News is sooo much more credible.
>>
I don't see a problem.

Have people take classes and a test that basically goes over the basics of computer security and when you buy a computer or other device, show them your license.

What's wrong with people knowing how the things they use work?

"secret website"
Fucking lost
>>
>>53367704
Your such a fucking retard, we might as well make it illegal to build a computer if you dont attend a $509 class and pass a test. Why does what other people do with their computers matter to you? Fuck off and die
>>
>>53367840
It affects everyone, dumbass.

What people click on, what people use, what viruses people get, affects everyone.
>>
>>53367704
So you just want it so your grandma doesn't yell at you anymore?
>>
>>53367875
No, I don't want her getting scammed or suffer identity fraud, something she could avoid if she understood the basics of computer security.

You people aren't very bright, are you?
>>
>>53367662
>and bought a dog
everytime
>>
>>53367745
It's not that one is credible over another, it's that there's a pretty big difference between the two.
>>
>>53367555
Because everyone knows you just get them there's you can do to stop it except downloading Norton or mcafee
