>God tier 4.7 inch IPS screen
>completely waterproof with speaker lids closed
>android 6.0
>motherfucking flir camera
>estimated price at launch $599
>3gb ram
>32gb rom

Are you going to buy one /g/? I know I am
>>
Yes, and I've already checked to make sure that I can write it off as a work expense. Hurry for free phones.
>>
>>53337349
screens too small for my wide thumbs but it look pretty great.
>>
>32GB read only memory
For what?
>>
>>53337349
wait, no headphone jack either? Dropped.

for field work, like something i would throw into a bag or tool box... definitely

bloaty nsa backdoor
>>
If it didn't have that small tumor coming out of its top, it'd be perfect
>>
>>53337412
Most of that will be internal memory

>>53337421
i imagine it has bluetooth

dont want dust and grit clogging up jacks, if you're using it in the conditions it's designed for
>>
>>53337404
>4.7in
>too small
ok troglodyte
>>
>>53337444
But why is it read only?
>>
>>53337446
a plug would work fine. I have blue tooth headphones but it's a bit of a pain to keep them charged on top of everything else. They also all seem to max out at about 8 hours of play time which means I have to charge them every day.
>>
>>53337457
good point
>>
>>53337349
what's the point of a infrared camera with such a low resolution. it's no good for actual work. i guess you could use it at home to test isolation but otherwise it's not very useful
>>
>>53337450
you know what, I was thinking that's the same size as the original iphone but I was way off. nearly 5 inches would work.
>>
>>53337457
only a little portion will be read only for android itself. the internal memory is writable like any other phone
>>
>>53337446
>>53337476

According to a few articles it appears to have a headphone jack. They mentioned one when they were talking about what ports the water protection switch closes off
>>
>>53337504
Then it's not ROM
>>
>>53337554

will you be able to see thermal images of girls in dressing rooms through walls with this?
>>
>>53337484
>with such a low resolution. i
Isn't it 13/15/18 megapixels?
How big of a resolution do you want?
>>
>>53337602
no
>>
>>53337602
short answer: maybe

long answer: if they are hot (as in heat) enough, yes. Results may vary on wall thickness, type, and if theres insulation or not.
>>
Isn't the FLIR camera's resolution super low and superimposed on a normal camera image?
>>
>>53337620
the main camera is 13 MP, the flir is 640x800 or something like that.

>>53337649
yes the res is pretty low but you have the option of the super imposing or not. but hey, its a super portable flir cam inside of a phone
>>
>>53337649
Yep. The thermal image is imposed over one from the main sensor to extrapolate more edge detail in the image. Its not a professional instrument, but its still damn useful.

>>53337671
Its 80x60.
>>
>>53337493
ok I was going to say that's crazy. some people think 4.7 is too small for other reasons, but I've never heard anybody say it was because their hands are too big. original iphone is like 3.5 in or something baby like
>>
>CAT
Why? Every computer system in their machines is literal shit.

For thermal imaging you don't need 4k resolution for crisp imaging you ultra nerd.
>>
>>53337710
>The resolution of this thermal camera is just 640 x 480 (VGA), giving away its main purpose: practical applications that can make life easier for professionals such as electricians, plumbers and others.

>>
>>53337754
No. Its 80x60.
Its a FLIR Lepton module, and it is only 80x60. You know literally nothing about FLIR devices. Don't try to correct people who know more than you.

640x480 would make this phone a revolutionary god tier piece of equipment. Its not.

Wow, thanks, i like being scammed.
They could have easily added possibility to open that back and swap the battery.
For 200$ and less i can get a very decent huawei, acer or other established chink brands. With the option to remove the battery.
Actually my currend acer has it and was well below 200$, still does everything just fine for my normie needs.

>flir camera
Oh yeah, how bad for me, i am clearly missing out.
>>
>>53337781
No shit. As if I couldnt tell by its specs page. Its RAW resolution is 80x60, the resolution shown on screen is 640x480. Wow you know about flir youre so cool anon

This phone should cost around $200, you are a terrible consumer if you pay $600 for one
>>
>>53337349
Will it be coming to Verizon so I can get it cheap?

If I can get it for my next upgrade I will. Just need to get the battery life to last ~6hr.
