Hey /g/ I'm building my first PC and I have all the parts to purchase here: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Alec1997/saved/
The only thing I'm not sure on is whether to buy a Sapphire Nitro Radeon R9 390X or a Sapphire radeon r9 390 Nitro. I am looking to game at 1440p with a 60 Hz monitor, which overclocks to 75 Hz. I know these two cards run on the same chip but is the 390x version worth the extra $100?

The general consensus is no. Also, get 16gb of ram with decent bandwidth, it's 2016 after all.
>>53335859
Hory shit, I looked at your dream build, and you really dont understand how memory works. Buy a complete kit, they are matched together. And don't buy a sound card, also don't buy win10, thats retarded.
>>53336129
also, can you not find a mobo with wifi baked in, already? c'mon now
>>53336129
Lol well that's unrealistic at the moment, anyway I'm in college and I just made it for fun im pretty sure there are overlaping problems too
>>53336162
Did you just update it again? You need a 16 gb kit, not 2 8gb kits.
>>53335859
That 850pro is a bit overkill also. You can find a nice 250gb for about that price, or cheaper.
>>53336205
How about now? changed the ram got rid of the sound card. I would never actually buy windows 10 I just have it on there
>>53336246
>>53336246
Changed for a 250gb evo for $87
>>53336323
That's the idea with the memory. 32gb is quite a bit, btw. I have seen those predator monitors, and am very impressed. They have a freesynch version that's only $1k. Coupled with twin Fury GPU's you could save what $4-500? I will buy one when the price drops, tho.
>>53336205
with ddr4 you can already start with a single 16GB stick and go from there
>>53336402
>failgate
get a wd blue
>>53336438
Yeah I've seen that and Ik they its my favorite monitor out rn I would kill for one. They look amazing
>>53336481
blues aren't ssds, friendo
>>53336467
I was talking about his other build. But you are right. You can find better timings when you go lower than 8gb sticks, tho. 8x2 is what I would do.
>>53336481
Yeah, a 250gb ssd, with a 2tb blue is the budget sweat spot.
>>53336557
hyperx cl14 2400mhz/cl15 2666mhz 16GB sticks are great, tho'
>>53336602
who makes hyperx ram?
>>53336624
kingston. is this a trick question?
>>53336645
nm I found it... "Micron, SK Hynix, Powerchip, Nanya and others"
Which company actually make the DRAM modules.

Buy a 970 instead.
Here's a review published 2 weeks ago.
>>53336724
the 970 is a trap
fuck off with it, please
get an 8GB 290x/390x
or just wait for hbm2 cards
>>53336724
oops forgot link

>>53336724
Interesting, I might go with a GTX 970 now.
>>53336836
Fuck off

Hawaii can't downclock if you use multi monitors or go beyond 60hz.
>>53336754
Some might agree, but it oc's like a champ and is absolutely perfect for 1080p
