>no tablets with Exynos 8890 or Snapdragon 820 announced AT ALL
>heck, even no tablets with A72 cores announced

What is this horseshit, I want an actual modern processor in a 10" tablet
Fuck me if I'm not salivating over the A9X, can these companies do anything right?

Get a tablet with a silvermont cores or better atom processor. Turns out x86 silvermont cores BTFO ARM cores. They match krait 400 cores while being more energy efficient. They're also more energy efficient than even A53 cores.

Why the fuck do you need some 32 core 5 jijajertz processor on an Android tablet?

Everyone knows that test is biased senpai, the brightness of the screens is not controlled. Test in phone arena sets all displays to 200 nit brightness.
>>
>>53326586
this

>>53326665
>While many battery tests often standardize at some percentage on the Android brightness slider such as 50%, that percentage can correspond to various different luminance values. To ensure that the true brightness of each device is equal, all devices are calibrated to a brightness of 200 nits.

So which one are we supposed to trust? If both tests used a controlled brightness of 200 nits, then one of them is obviously biased.
>>
>>53326586
Lol no.
>>
>>53326708
>"This test loads web pages on a fixed interval, which gives both the SoC and modem a period of idle time between each page load. This ensures that the test does not penalize certain SoCs for being faster by causing them to do more work."
This test is biased, it's designed to gauge how energy efficient the displays are, not the SoCs inside. boo

Nigger, x86 silvermont already matches krait 400 cores. The fuck you need more than that?
>>
>>53326841
>krait 400

Take your 2012 bullshit and fuck off.
>>
>>53326841
Krait 400 is old now matey
How about matching with the newer ARMs that rekt it in both single core and multi core?
Face it, industry doesn't want x86

>Intelrep trying to keep x86 alive

Nice try.
>>
>>53326891
x86 is doing just fine familia. It's only a matter of time before it takes over the smartphone market.
>>
>>53326891
This is the 3rd or 4th thread hes been in. Always talks about how atom beats old krait cores or A53s in budget chinese SoCs.

Never mind that SD820 and exynos 8 have IPC comparable to intel core-m but have 2x as many cores and while operating at atom power levels.
>>
>>53326931
It wont
Phones are low power devices, your x86 chips can run on as many supercomputers and desktops and laptops it wants to, but it'll never trump over ARM in low power department. You know why? Because ARM specializes in that.
>>
>>53326586
this
>>
>>53326974
Apparently x86 does too
>>
>>53326931
Lolno, there's a simply matter of cost, and software library size, x86 cannot compete.
>>
>>53326991
x86 can run android numb nuts
>>
>>53326586
THIS. Stay away from any tablet with an ARM processor, it's not worth it. You'll get better battery life with x86.

Doesn't mean it's good at it.

If it has an ARM processor, stay away from it if you care about battery life.

Actually I only made 2 of those posts but keep crying armcuck, your tears are delicious.

I once used ARM CPU processors and I swear never again, I couldn't install windows or even use AutoCAD on it, pure garbage

Get a tablet with an x86 cpu, arm is fucking garbage.

I think we can all agree that ARM is a piece of shit. Fucking housefires making tablets have bad battery life.

First, newer ARMs beat zenfone 2 by a mile in terms of power consumption AND raw performance

Second, if you think x86 can ever compete with ARM in terms of power consumption. You are wrong. Dead wrong.
ARM is an architecture that SPECIALIZES in power efficiency. What do you think RISC means? Its "reduced instruction set", meaning less transistors, less heat, and less power use.

>>53327139
Looky looky
ARM sure does look dead doesn't it?
>>
>>53327139
>ARM sells 9x times more
>x86 chips up to 60x times more expensive

ARMcucks on suicide watch
>>
>>53326990
Oh no it doesn't
Sure, low power atoms exist but they're far weaker than similarly powered ARMs
>10W x86 atoms are great in performance, but remember, smartphones are low power devices 3W-5W is the limit
>>
>>53327396
Then why does the zenfone 2 have such good battery life despite using cheap IPS display? It beats the honor 5X in battery life which uses "low power" A53 cores.
>>
>>53327416
Who cares, newer ARM do in fact beat x86 CPU in zenfone 2 in terms of processing horsepower AND battery life.
Zenfone 2 and its x86 doesn't have any legacy, Zenfone 3 will not have an x86 CPU.
>>
>>53327143
ARM works great in certain applications. The RPi3 clocks in at under 1 amp. It works great for very light desktop work (word processing, web browsing). The heavy lifting will still be done by x86 though.
>>
>>53327143
pajeet pls.
