Long story short, i was the single quietest 380X/970/980 i can find. The quietest fans and the least reports of coil whine.

The Asus 970 I have doesn't even turn it's fans on till the temps go over 65c. And that only happens when I game

I can deal with a fairly quiet deep whoosh of pure air, i just hate fans that have their own tones if that makes any sense at all

I honestly can't tell you. By the time they come in I have the volume turn up past the point I can hear it. The case also has three 120mm fans the make a massive difference.

Coil whine. Trust me I own one. It randomly starts to make weird high pitch noises when its at a certain load. Sometimes when i stare at something in a game it whines, when i turn around it stops and when i look at it it starts again
The sapphire nitro cooler is the quietest thing I've ever heard by direct experience. Don't trust nvidia shills suggesting you a reference blower card because they are loud compared to aftermarket ones. But hey, if you buy a reference nvidia all your money will be donated to the good nvidia instead of partially flowing into evil companies like gigabyte, msi, evga etc.

Buy whatever you want, reference model. Strip the cooler off if it. Install a water block on the card and watercool.
