First off, if I could just change websites as I pleased, I would be worth a trillion dollars. Second, if every company's IT department could magically change websites the internet would explode every 10 seconds.
I know why they ask this and it's because they equate everything that is on their screen to be the computer somehow. If they went on a website, that is on "their computer" and since I fix "their computer" they assume I can control a website because it is on "their computer".

We used to have some rich clients and I would offer to call on their behalf if they could give me the account number, property information, whatever the fuck the website they were trying to get to does, so they "don't try to weasel their way out of it by hurling computer acronyms at them". The answer was always, "I don't want to give you that information". So how the fuck am I supposed to help you? I don't give a flying fuck about your irrelevant secret data. That's another fucking paradox these losers throw at you. I once had to "fix" this dumb fuck's problem and she was holding her fucking hand over the excel spreadsheet which paradoxically had the issue but it was "sensitive information". And it was like a cartoon game of clue where I have to divine what she did to see what was left out but we're in this quantum situation where I have to both know and not know what the text looks like.
