8gb is still perfectly fine, i'd rather upgrade to 8gb of ddr4 3000 rather than 16gb of bog standard ddr4 2133 since people are actually achieving decent performance gains from it.

It's not enough. I've personally seen Cities Skylines take over 9GB of RAM alone. When that's factor in with the other stuff running at the same time I'm using almost 100% of my RAM and start getting low memory messages.

My friend tried running Space Engineers sever and a client at the same time, ran out of memory when he was at 8GB, bought another 8GB and he still gets maxed out on RAM usage, although his server does not crash anymore. When he looked his ram usage and the actual used amount, he had like 4 gb of spare, so the game and server took like 10 to 11gb of ram
