Also move up to a 980 or r9 390. dont gimp yourself with 3.5+.5GB of VRAM if you can avoid it.

Anon, you don't NEED an i7 for gaming. You could get an i5 for -$100, and use that money for a better GPU. Also, unless you plan to overclock, don't get a k processor and you can stick with the stock cpu cooler (though it will be loud).
