People haven't tried it, and hate the idea of buying a peripheral for content.
The thing with VR, is that it ensures a lot of VR exclusive content if it succeeds. Imagine being a PC gamer only to be told you have to buy a console to plug into your computer to play a new game. That's what VR is to some people.
Fortunately, VR does seem to be picking up and making 360 degree content is rather easy and cheap.
Cons:

I want VR to succeed, but we need more standardization.
Mainly, I want oculus to fail, because they want a future where each VR headset has it's own set of exclusives, which is awful., possibly even between different headsets of the same company.
OSVR is a lot more similar to standard PC hardware, and pc gaming, one thing that abstracts the hardware differences.
That's what needs to succeed.
Also, I want my 4k screens, for interface + videos.
Scale game content down.
I don't care about screen 60+ FPS, haven't gotten nauseas on anything running at a solid 60 fps yet, especially not videos.

I don't know if there are people out there who want VR to fail, but I'm on the side that thinks VR will fail/stay a niche.
There's just no killer app/no good use for it except demos and enthusiasts.
Especially considering the price for proper VR on desktop (800$ Headset + 1000$ PC). I have a phone VR set which made me see a bit of what's possible, yet again, no killer apps.

Every technological advancement has to start somewhere and VR is the first step to a holodeck.
I could understand if people had legitimate criticisms of the platform, but a lot of people are just /v/tards looking for the next "Tortantic." You should see threads on /v/, they legitimately want vr to fail regardless and everyone involved to lose money. I have no idea how someone can live with that type of mindset.
