So, I got a now GTX 960 to replace my 560 Ti that was artifacting. Installed the card and the drivers nicely, but after installing and analyzing the graphs in MSI Afterburner, I noticed that even at 99% GPU usage, the Power graph stays around 70%, like shown here.

Is this a normal behavior or is this related to the PSU?

Why do people fall for the nvidia shills ? Its like they want you to pay twice as much as you would with amd so you have access to their drivers and proprietary technology.

Where can i get a new 390 for under 200?

because nvidia actually provides usable linux drivers and I refuse to use cancer OS? Not to mention hardware HEVC decoding and CUDA for GPGPU? And my house insurance is cheaper now since I'm less liable for housefires

You cant , its around 300. But you can get a 380 for under 200.

But the 960 is cheaper than the 380X and has comparable results in 1080p, sometimes even better.

inb4 >1080p, if you're gonna play games in higher resolutons, you're not gonna buy a 960/380X anyways.
>>
>>53158442
Why is it that /g/ always focuses on card specs instead of performance?

Yeah, fuck off, nobody cares about your memes.
>>
>>53158999
I had compared the canadian 960 to the us 390 by mistake so the prices were similar. But yeah the 960 is basically a 380.

The 380 has is a better memory bus and 4gb instead of 2gb while the 960 has a faster clock.

At this point I would just pick the cheaper card.
>>
>>53159083
you can get a 960 with 4gb as well

There are 4GB 960s too, though. Even with the narrow bus, the additional VRAM makes the 960 gain around 5-10% in performance.

2GB 960s are bullshit though, waste of money.

well then there is literally no reason to choose the 380. The I just fail to see why the 390 has specs similar to a 980 yet is almost half the price and seems to fall short in performance on every benchmark chart ive seen.

I picked this chart purposefully, to show that you can cherrypick results that prove your thesis, like >>53159136 did. It just seems that for some reason AMD cards do worse than Nvidia on High settings (which in GTA V are actually the medium settings. This game doesn't have "low")

Here's a chart from the same test with graphic settings set to Very High. Much more reasonable.
>>
>>53159327

>>>/v/
>>
>>53159225
Why would they even publish these results? They're so clearly fucked at a software level that they don't tell anything about the hardware being tested.
>>
>>53159365
Much better , yet I cant figure out why the "top level" amd card is doing worse than the 780 ti. Go on newegg to compare specs then tell me if this chart is supposed to make any sort of sense.

I know nvidia is kind of a jew when it comes to proprietary software but could they really be paying game devs to make their games run better on nvidia cards than amd cards ? How would that even work ?

Buying a mid/high range AMD card is a total waste of money if you are using linux because drivers are shit. It is common knowledge.
>>
>>53159382
The tests were done using FCAT, and not a software fps meter like fraps, so I'd say the results are as accurate as they get.
>FCAT is an Nvidia testing tool, it obviously lowers AMD's scores!
The scripts used for analysing FCAT results are open-source, just as /g/ likes.
