Well it's probably not too hard to buy the parts/chips of a phone, solder them together and make your own phone. After that it should be easy to flash it with your own OS.

Just to drop my thoughts here:
I have been using the Samsung Galaxy S5 since it came out as my only phone and while it was fun testing out the powerful quadcore and graphics by playing games and running benchmarks, the only thing I use the phone for right now is browsing the internet, facebook and using other basic phone stuff (call, sms, alarm,...).
I'm considering to buy the meizu pro 5 ubuntu because of the overwhelming stats (for an ubuntu device) and because I would like a change of UI.
