I'm going to buy two AMD R7 370s graphics cards and put them in crossfire. There are four 4G options available for this graphics card on Amazon. Which brand should I buy and why?

>Asus
>Gigabyte
>Sapphire Radeon
>MSI

>I was given a 3D ready Acer projector (120 Hz, HDMI 2.0) for Christmas that doesn't support Nvidia 3D Vision
>>
You should buy the XFX version of this card, There is a reason why it's more expensive.

You get what you pay for.
>>
>>53049598
Is there? Most people here reccomend Sapphire, or just wait for Polaris/Pascal.
>>
Sapphire. Everyday.

Just remember, it's a pretty shit time to buy a graphics card. Wait for them to go down (6 months max) or buy the new lines.

You're not very familiar with 3D gaming. If you want to play games in 3d above 24 fps, you HAVE to have two graphics cards.

It's not optional.

fucking nice meme, actually got a little mad at that.

I like MSI because of return policy, I'm not saying you should expect to return the card it's good to know that if you do get a lemon you can return it easily. Can you wait for Polaris? I'm thinking to do the same build 2x390s but I think I will wait because my 2x7950s are chugging along quite nicely.
>>
What is the best card for 1440p? The most demanding game for me is probably total war series.
>>
>>53050636

390 or better and 980Ti probably. You want more vram the higher the resolution goes, same with bigger and better textures.
>>
should i switch my r9 280 for r9 380?

Best card? 980ti or pretty much the most expensive card you can buy.

Most sensible? A 970 would do the job, (normal) 980 for sure.

Well yeah wow, you could get a 390 for a bit more, why the fuck are sapphire gpus so overpriced? There's literally a gigabyte version for 199 in the comparison thingy. Who would willingly buy a mid-tier gpu for the price of a high end just because it's Muh Sapphireâ„¢?

I can confirm as an owner of a 370 that getting the 4gb is a waste of money and if anything at the 130$-150$ price point someone should get an hd 7950 and at this time to get amd is terrible since polaris will have cards "mid july to early september"

Generally they have the best coolers on the AMD side.

The 390 isn't that big of an improvement in performance vs the 290. If you're getting 2 290x's though make sure you either watercool the cards or get ones with good coolers.

Instead of buying any 4GB R7 370 from Amazon for $179.99, get a Sapphire R9 380 4GB from Newegg.
It's $10 more, but isn't a fucking joke.

I personally stick with Sapphire because I've had no problem with them (owned a 280 before I bought a 390 and then another), but I know the Gigabyte card has it's voltage locked and still doesn't cool as well as the Sapphire 390.

Get the 970 of that's your budget limit or 980 if you can afford it. Don't listen to the shills.
Even if AMD drivers aren't awful anymore they're still worse. Less support for non-videogame stuff too.

In order to use the 3D functionality of his Christmas present, Op has to purchase an AMD graphics card and install middleware.

A r7 370 will NEVER be able to use 4 gigs of ram. Whoever decided to put 4 gigs of ram on that card is a crackhead.

Thinking about going with a I5 + R9 380 but I wouldn't have to cut as many corners if I just go with an APU.
>>
>>53053880
One r7 370 won't be able to use the entire 4 gigs of vram. Two r7 370s in crossfire will.

A modern i5/380 setup would absolutely blow any APU setup out of the fucking water.

APUs were never a good bet for mainstream 3d gaming on desktops and this has never been more true.

>assuming 1080p

All that said, the upcoming die shrink could be worth waiting for if you don't mind slumming it on the i5's integrated graphics for a few months or you have an old card you can recycle. This isn't a typical update or refresh to graphics cards, it's the first die shrink in like 4 or 5 years.

The two cards share the 4 gigs, dipshit. Putting two cards in crossfire doesn't double the available vram.

Crossfire can be a pretty insane value proposition provided the game supports it so don't listen to people saying you're retarded.

Still, even in that graph, a single 390 handily beats the crossfired 370s and they can be had for $299 now. It might be a little bit more expensive but it's more foolproof and it performs better.

But those cards are going to cost money, maybe 390s will drop in price.

I was always told that if you want to play games in 3D at a decent frame rate, you have to have two cards. One card for each eye.
>>

I'm very surprised by this chart.
>>
>>53054566
this is mostly true. but then, you need to look at what the frame-rates of a single R7 370 will be when you play Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor, because that's what frame-rates you'll be getting if you play that game in 3D.
