A lot of people swear by uTorrent, but I like how minimal Transmission is.

p.s. consider the topmost client on each list as the best for that particular platform (gnu = qbt, os x = transmission, win = halite). that's it. no more of these pointless threads please. we have a fucking wiki right there on the sticky.

i use rtorrent on my vps, and transmission-daemon on my desktop/laptop/phone

Is deluge the one that looks like fucking rainmeter and confused the shit out of people in the dock.
>>
>>53002555
i dont know what your talking about. I know deluge has a gui, but I always use the deluge daemon and deluge-console because i run it on a seedbox

Yea they both have drop shaped icons

I've been using qBittorrent because I had a bug in Deluge but qBT is lame. #1 issue is that you can only have 1 label per torrent. And somehow it's even uglier than Deluge.

Deluge.

Released under the same license as Emacs, GPLv3. What could be better than that?
>>
i use aria2c
>>
>>53005105
I had that. It would just shit out and stop responding for about 10 seconds every time I clicked anything. Plus the fact that it doesn't remember where you save things. You can set ONE folder as your download location and if you want to do anywhere else you have to navigate there from your root directory every time. For most people that would be simply annoying, for me it took an extra 10 minutes. I'd click one thing, alt tab, and check back later to see if i could click anything else yet.

only 1 label per torrent
kinda blows. I label torrents that I start "seed forever" and some "delete later" so that I can keep and ditch, but it prevents me from putting on any other labels like "movie", "music"

Qbittorrent for Windows or no torrent client at all. There are no stalls, nothing bad happens and it is minimal with no ads.

transmission-daemon or aria2, as they are portable and aren't dependent on libtorrent but have great network stacks. rtorrent (uses libtorrent) is pretty good for seedboxes and so is qbittorrent, but for regular clients transmission has add-ons and aria2 can manage other downloads. Transmission also offers a better gtk interface if guis are necessary.
