ok fine. I traded my HP 6410p (I think that was the model?) old-ass laptop with Windows 7 and upgraded RAM on it for this thing.
Monetarily the trade was hugely in my favor, but from the standpoint of actually using what I got out of the trade, yeah... not so much. Still, it's neat to look at and a worthwhile trade for me since didn't even use that laptop anymore.

you might be able to pass optimus through another display
all cards fermi and beyond are capable of this
you need any other display, like on board gpu or anything
then you goto the nvidia control panel and select the tesla card to render whatever game or app you wish
this should render the game with tesla and output the video through intel HD or whatever you are using
this MIGHT be possible
either with the native drivers or using a driver hack, which is basically just tweeking the desktop drivers install

but i know fermi is capable of optimus
if you have ever played with an eGPU for laptops, then you should know this
optimus had driver level support on all laptops based on fermi first, then moved onto desktop later. right now its automatically included with basic driver and CP install for all fermi based cards.
but the tesla might be different,
its definitly capable of passing video through to another adapter, but you might have to tweak the desktop driver ini to get it to work
thats what you had to do with desktop fermi's before optimus was available for desktop gpu's
