I have heard that ergonomic keyboards are less ergonomic than normal keyboards!
The problem is that you don't need to move your arms while you type and that is really bad for you, In the study i saw they said that the model M (yes i know... they might have had assburgers) was the most ergonomic keyboard.
They chose the model M because it has buckling springs that are kinder to the joints in the fingers and it has a big gap in between its caps forcing the user to move its hands and arms more!

I've been using these for 15 years. They wear out after a couple of years of heavy use, and whatever you do don't spill anything on them or they are done. They have the best layout and are the most comfy keyboards I've ever used. I wish they had mechanical switches and wish the space bar wasn't so loud, but they're damn good keyboards. Especially for $40.

No, but honestly I have mechanical keyboards too and really it's not that dramatic of a difference unless you're used to $5 generic keyboards. I much prefer the natural 4000 to my $100 standard layout with blue switches. My 4 year old uses the mechanical one on her computer now lol.

I have one of those kinesys keyboards, it isn't bad.
There are minor irritations, it cant interact with the grub boot menu for example, and the built in macro thing used to re-map keys is prone to freezing up and crashing, rendering the thing dead until you re-plug it.
So you turn off the key remap macro thing, and you keep a second kb nearby in case you need to boot into a different kernel or something.
It feels really good to type on though. Keys are a lot closer, no more emacs pinky.
