So I hacked my wii a while back so I could play everything.
But I noticed on some threads that passed on /g/ that I didn't do it the optimal way.
I'm currently using USB loader GX to load my games and the drive is wbfs, but I've heard of other programs reading FAT32 files.
Any tips/tutorials on this?

I have steam, its games, and other programs installed on my Z:\ drive. Steam and any other program runs on the drive, but when I try to play a game it says "Missing Executable". When I check windows explorer, the Z:\ drive doesn't show up and neither does it show up in Windows Disk Management. But when I check Task Manager, it says my programs on the Z:\ drive (that are running) are running off the correct file locations on Z:\.

My guess is that the programs launched on startup but the drive connection fucked and now the programs are running in RAM only but I don't know.

Madvr abd xysubfilters won't do any harm, only reclock does or does not do something it is supposed to, I should have mentioned in my original post, that the video works with VLC or with MPC without reclock. And do I understand somewhat what these programs do, although I lack the experience to tell what might be causing what.
>>
>>52953578
Are you trying to run a game installed on a removable drive? You kinda deserve the error...

But yeah, it seems it may be running from ram only, unplug and replug the drive or restart the computer and see if it shows up on windows explorer.

tl;dr multiple routers and getting devices on both networks to see each other
So I have a main router connected over wires to my NAS and main PC, and then wirelessly to my laptop, phone etc. I also have a couple of wireless audio receivers for streaming. No-one else has the password for that router.
I then have a second shittier router for guests that's connected to my main one which only allows web traffic through. Not the greatest of security setups but it works.
When setting up the guest network (before port blocking etc) you couldn't connect to any of the audio receivers on the main router. What I'd like to do is allow them access to those, or the other way around where I hook the receivers up to the guest wifi so that they can use them, and then I could still connect to them from my main router.
What do? Do I just get a WRT1900AC and setup the security better on it or is there a better way?

I was given a 24 inch iMac to repair (it won't boot the OS, just boots to the grey Apple screen and beach balls forever). I tried recovery mode, -nothing. I tried the installation disk, -nothing. It will open up single user mode and run the fsck checks and everything checks out fine but it still won't boot. I even got it to boot a couple of live Linux distros and checked the drive and ram to be certain everything was ok. I should also point out that everything works properly in the live Linux environments. Also, oddly enough it won't boot the OS after I installed a fresh copy of OS X to an external drive. Anyone have any ideas? My sister in law uses this computer for her business and I'm trying my damndest to prevent her from giving Apple another $2k for a replacement piece of shit.

My USB keyboard just stopped working and I have no clue why. The LEDs and everything are on, and the PC shows that it's connected, but nothing I type shows up on screen. At first I thought it was just the keyboard, but I plugged in another one through the PS2 and that one also doesn't work, but the lights on it flickered when i plugged it in rather than staying on. I tried rolling back to a few weeks ago but it still doesn't work. It says the drivers are already up to date, and my mouse works fine.

I have no problem running a full system wipe, but I'm on Windows 7 and I don't know how to do this shit. How can I wipe the system fully? Or can I fix this without having to do that?

How can I hook up 1 mouse and 1 keyboard to two PC's?

I have an older laptop Aspire V3-571G. The temperature of both CPU & GPU is rising way too high (75-90 °C / 167-192 °F) by only watching youtube.
I have dismantled and cleaned the insides, but did not help.
>>
>>52954072
To clarify, how can I have a mouse go over to one PC, like move the mouse over to the other monitor, and then use the keyboard on that PC?

I don't want to accidentally click something on one monitor and type in someone meant for the other one
>>
>>52953946
While I worked as electrician we used colored insulation tape, you rip off a small piece, place the wire on the midle and stick two ends together forming a small label.

it's easy to take it out, cheap and you can use a regular pen/marker to sign it.
>>
>>52954097
So is it actually 2 monitors and 2 computers OR 2 monitors but only one computer?

For the later, just use the monitors as "extended", mouse should go over one monitor to the other.

For the former, you will need some third-party program... I'm not sure you can find something that can do exactly what you described.
>>
>>52954148
2 PC's, 2 monitors, controlled by 1 mouse and keyboard. I looked into Synergy, seems to do what I want it to, but I don't have a wifi card on 1 PC anymore. Anyway to get a 2 sided USB cable and connect them that way?
>>
>>52954047
Some(Most?) motherboards require that you restart the computer after plugging a PS2 keyboard. Try the PS2 again after restarting.

Also try both PS2 and USB at another computer if possible, derive your conclusions.

Okay, boys.

For some reason my PC won't let me boot from CD/DVD.

Whenever I go to boot menu, there's no DVD option. If I then enable Legacy Mode instead of UEFI and go to boot menu, there's something called:

SATA (+some shit): (some shit) DVDRAM (some shit)

And if I pick that it gives me the message that "there's no such partition" and something about Grub.

Any help?

double* g = (double*) malloc(2);
g[0] = 2.5;
g[1] = 3.5;
g[2] = 4.5;
std::cout << g[2] << std::endl; // 4.5

Could anyone shed me some light on what's happening here? I clearly reserve too little memory, the compiler doesn't complain at all and I can just put stuff there.
I'm mostly wondering what the dangers/implications are here, if I malloc another piece of memory, do I risk overwriting everything after the 2 bytes reserved?
>>
>>52954169
I'm pretty sure that cable thingy wouldn't work... something to do with the USB wires being about data and power.

I would go with some program, but you certainly will need to have some network between the computers.

it's just pointer arithmetic. The compiler writes the last double at the end of the second double.
The only danger is that you could overwrite something else at random.

i'd say we're talking like, what now, it's gonna have problems in a time spam of 3-5 years?, and by the time these problems are palpable you'd potentially would have changed equipment by then right? does this sound logical?

The only problem would be if you had condensation building up inside the case. That probably wouldn't happen because you would need some very brusque temperature changes.

Do you realize how much water you would have to release into the air for this to be an issue? I'm sure there's plenty of people living in sauna like climates that experience no issues at all. Like someone else stated, it's probably good to have one running to cut down on static.

Car doors are often locked through radio controlled keys. I mean you can press a button on your car key, and it opens your car doors.

I just found out about something called "software defined radio", which is a programmable piece of hardware that can use arbitrary frequencies.

Could you use something like that to break into cars? Hypothetically of course, i already know those SDRs are expensive as fuuck, and it would be a huge pain to try out like a million frequencies, so i'd never do it.

Just want to know if it is possible using an SDR

i'm using an excel spreadsheet to do some optimization math, and for part of it i need to find the minima of a function of two variables. to do that i just made a table of the two variables over a range, filled the table with my function, and found the row/column of the minimum cell. that worked fine for one case but i want to repeat it to find the minima for a bunch of different cases of constant values.

is there any way i can do that minima-finding process without having to make a big 100x100 table for every single case?

no visual basic thanks i don't want to kill myself

I know this is a stupid questions thread, but if you can't even post the make/model (since obviously you didn't build it yourself), you're not going to get much help.

Also, you may have been memed and got a 64-bit distro while your system is 32-bit. It's unlikely, but possible.

Okay guys, I've got a really stupid question here.

I'm about to install Windows 10 from a USB.

Do I just open up the contents of the ISO and dump them into my USB? Should I put the activator in there too or wait until I've installed and then transfer it over? I'm scared it might fuck up the installation.
>>
>>52957565
Who cares if you fuck it up, you can just do it again?
>>
>>52957565
I think you have to write the ISO to the USB. Download "Rufus" or a similar program. It's pretty easy to get up and running.

Also. I would recommend downloading/transferring the activator after you have installed it.
>>
>>52957565
you have to make your usb bootable. google how to do that. you can use command prompt or install a program that will make it bootable for you. put the activator on a different usb device and run it once you've installed windows.

why did my download speed skyrocket back to what it's supposed to be after two minutes as you can see here? I was about to call my ISP to bitch about their provided download speed being absolute dogshit when I ran the speedtest again and my download speed appeared as normal.

In practice my download speed is usually absolute dogshit. I can't watch yt vids in 720p 60fps, as for every second of video, there is 10+ secs of buffering. I struggle, even, to watch 480p, and even 360p much of the time. why is this happening?

like
- using a linux live distro on usb or cd and running the computer as long as possible to see if the same occurs.
- full hard drive format and os/drivers/software install just to see if some bad software config is the cause of the problem.
- reseating the ram or other components on the motherboard(unplug the computer) take everything out, wait a few minutes and put everything back.
