we literally used dialup through the Wanadoo era, it was awful. we got broadband in like 2005 or something
>Played the hell out of this as a kid.
>Level 263 no problems.
>Tried it again a while ago.

>a symptom of autism is resistance to change
Nigga, pls. Even using a tiling wm like i3 is more aesthetically pleasing than windows 10.
>>52947835
Agreed. I grew up using Windows and never used UNIX or a tiling WM until around 2009. Of course, I can't live without i3 these days.
I still think the classic Windows look is pretty comfy though.
>>52947480
>FULL CAPS FILENAMES

always used netscape and loved the little animation in the corner.
>>52947618
It was what it was, nothing more or less. Functional, minimal, machinelike, and most importantly consistent with the operating system instead of fighting it in some desperate attempt to look hip and different.
But ultimately I would take either, I'm very optimistic about flat design, and I believe it has a lot of potential. Definitely better than the obnoxious "look at me! you've got a 24-bit display now, might as well use it!" garbage of 2001-2011.

wtf am I watching? lel
>>52948179
Bill Gates wrote a book in the mid-90's about what he thought the Internet would become. The book came with a multimedia CD that illustrated a lot of his predictions. That's the video. Everything about it, from the optimism to the presentation, is reminiscent of old tech from decades past
>>52948215
I can't stop watching. Ty.

People talking and wanting to do things together with other people.
now its
>go to irc
>everyone is just idling
>trying to prove who can make most idling time
>try to start conversation with someone
>flames you the shit out of you resulting in warnings or bans
>forums are independent places where people go on a power trip and nobody is there in relation to the content.
>try other forms of discussion
>dick sucking on all sides you cant say anything if you dont agree
>4chan is more hostile than ever and its not what it used to be
I just want people to talk to other people
