Well for one class notes. Drawing organic structures digitally is slow as fuck. I write to study because it helps drill shit in better. This is a majority of my writing. At least 5 pages a day.
Also I've been journaling a lot because it helps to "talk" about my problems and issues with the world without having the normies find out about them. It's amazingly cleansing. I use "ox blood" ink for this and it looks edgy as fuck.
Always a good laugh when I read back, otherwise I'd be cringing at my own edginess.

I agree with this post in general but I wouldn't be so strict. I'll suggest some changes in some of these.
People might like Linux and they want to use it as their main OS but they just can't at the moment, maybe they have it on some old testing rig. I think it still counts.
Thinkpads are great but there are other laptops too which people might prefer for their needs. Like maybe Chromebooks or something. Not Apple though, never Apple. That company is getting enough income from tech illiterates and the reality distortion field should be broken already.
Someone might have an iPhone which was a gift, they are very common gifts. You don't stop using it for protest, but you might recognize that it's not the best possible phone for everything always. These people should count as well.
Mechanical watches can be considered technology but they can only do one thing, show time. I prefer smartwatches and still think that they can't do enough. My watch should be able to do all kinds of things. I want advancement.
Fountain pens require a need for handwriting, which many people don't have anymore. Typing with a keyboard is so much faster. If they are good pens then they could be included but with a sidenote that they are for people who write by hand.
I would also accept any browser that is open source, that's the one thing that matters.
I don't see the need for that Youtube remark, let people watch videos if they want.
Arch and Gentoo shouldn't be the only ones that matter, it should just be Linux in general. If you can use any distro well then it should count.
I would also disagree that you have to be of a certain age, I think it would only improve this place if we would have young savants talking about difficult technology in great detail. Only the Call of Duty morons should leave.

There's a difference between a product that was made to be around $300 and a product that was made to be $3000. Even when it gets old, you can still feel the premium parts. Same with cars, if you get one that's old and has a lot of mileage you can get something that has every addon selected when it was new, like leather seats and stuff. After they are used the price drops so much that they become interesting to poor people. That's why people are obsessed with them, you can get something that was well made right from the start if you just don't demand much from it.
