As far as I am aware you can put multiple windows on the same screen, Samshit had that on their devices for like 3 years.
Besides you do not have enough screen space for more than two (even two) apps at the same time anyway.
And how are you going to know how much battery you have and what time it is?
How do you plan on turning on your phone without a power button? How will you be able to enter recovery? By shaking the phone at a certain angle or something?
If you debloat your phone and get rid of RAM eaters like TouchWiz or Sense then you shouldn't have any lag whatsoever. I remember my Galaxy S3 with CM11 freezing only twice in 6 months.

I think there is an Xposed module that hides the notification bar at all times.
And you can play floating videos with Samshit's video player, there's an app called Awesome Video something on Play Store, but I wouldn't touch that with a shitty stick because it limits videos per month and wants referrals for unlimited video.

I know the display works differently. In the GS2 case it was true but it wasn't killing the battery or using more than any other random app.
With the Moto X it was using next to nothing thanks to the processor that was also used for the always on thing that can pick up voice commands from you without touching the phone.
