DVI because it doesn't have HDCP. Also it's an open standard.

HDMI is a format though, which does contain encryption you dolt.

dvi mayte unless you're using a television for a monitor.

Video Over USB
>>

>>52890280

>High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP), is a form of digital copy protection developed by Intel Corporation[1] to prevent copying of digital audio and video content as it travels across connections. Types of connections include DisplayPort (DP), Digital Visual Interface (DVI), and High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High-bandwidth_Digital_Content_Protection

HDCP happens over DVI also dumb fucks.
>>
>>52890053

Display Port you fucking trash.

Given the option, it's the best.

they are the EXACT SAME THING

HDMI is just pin-swapped DVI
>>
>>52890410
That's not correct.
>>
>>52890053
HDMI looks fuzzy
>>
>>52890255
there's only really 2 types of dvi ports
I dual link for dvi or vga
and D dual link for dvi only
it's rare that you see anything else on a video card, and almost all the cables are D dual link
>>
>>52890321
>>52890280
I was wrong. At least DVI and DisplayPort don't require extreme royalties to implement.
>>
>>52890410
DVI-D is mostly the same as HDMI, but there's also DVI-A, which carries an RGB signal.

HDMI if I need sound, DVI otherwise.

>>DisplayPort 1.3 bandwidth: 32.4 Gbps
Thoughts?

None of the above. Displayport is the future. In any case, DVI needs to go away. I want my single slot GPUs back.
>>
>>52890759
Can't DisplayPort and DVI live next to each other?
>>
>>52890053
No DRM on DVI.
>>
>>52890591
I thought like you did until I tried out a spare DVI cable I found lying around.

There's definitely a difference in sharpness anon.
>>
>>52890816
DVI just takes up so much goddamn room. Nvidia's current solution is to put three displayport and one HDMI on the first slot, and a DVI taking up almost half of the second bracket. I'd be perfectly fine with losing the DVI if it meant I could slap a water block and single slot bracket on it. AMD already does it that way on the Fury X, but that would mean compromising and buying AMD, so no.
>>
>>52890816
Why would it?

All you need is display port.
Just use a DP->DVI or a DP->HDMI cable if your screen doesn't have display port.
>>
>>52890150
DVI do have HDCP you fucktard.
(Exept for DVI-A, which I doubt you use)
>>
>>52891036
>>52890462
I said I was wrong. And I have never seen DVI-A to DVI-A in use. The only use I've seen for DVI-A is as a VGA port with an adapter. Even then, the port was DVI-I.

Bought a 3440x1440, Used hdmi for a week before figuring out it only have me 50Hz. Switched to display port and get 60Hz.

Hdmi is already outdated for me

>>
>>52891395
You're fine. All it means is that you can't put something in between the GPU and the monitor to record things. Your YIFY collection will still play just fine.
>>
>>52890150
DVI does support HDCP and even if it didn't why the fuck would you want that?

This is accurate and DP is clearly superior. Not on any TV's that Ive seen though. Although that line has been blurred in the past 10 years.

No, you fucking retard. DVI-D is digital only. "VGA" or D-Sub, as it should be called, is analogue.

The answer is Displayport. Accept no substitutes.

It doesn't matter at all. HDCP is useless if you use a good media player, and aren't hoping to play blurays on your pc or something.

DVI same as HDMI
but DVI has no sound

DVI runs at 720p
HDMI runs at 1080p

DVI gets higher frame rates
HDMI is clearer on average but lower frame rate than DVI.

I like both But HDMI is on more things IMO HDMI is better.

I think display port is just HDMI with internet
in other words a meme but everyone will likely buy

Does DisplayPort have its own variation of this?
