Its a bit bulky in my opinion. 15" and up are good for desktop replacements if you move around a lot and do intensive work but that's rare. If you want a laptop to take notes and really move around with 13" is great.
I have a 15" laptop with a dedicated GPU and its a bit of a bitch to bring around. I can bring it on a flight though so it's worth it.
The last laptop I bought was a 15.6" Vaio V series.. and that was 5+ years ago. 1366 x 768. Core i3M. Intel HD 3000 IG.

simply because it's next to impossible to get a 13" or 15" gaming laptop with the power of a 17". As well as this I'm not a little bitch and I can handle carrying a 17" laptop in a backpack until I can sit down and use it. Bigger screens are better for both media and information display and overall I'd prefer a portable workstation and media device over a tablet with a keyboard.
Before it is stated, yes I spent over $2000 on a laptop with the power of a $700 tower. Simply because I have the money and it's more convenient so why not.

It's really the aspect ratio's fault moreso than the form factor. 16:9 results in short and fat laptops, which makes them non-portable and too wide to fit on top of any human being's lap comfortably at the 15.6" form factor. 15" 4:3 laptops are perfectly fine.

IMO a 15" MBP is the perfect compromise of performance and weight, not to mention the screen size. Have had various models for years, and have never thought they were too heavy.

Since this is a thread about laptops as is, how are MSI laptops? I know thisbthing is considered "gayming" but I want a laptop with an 8 thread i7 (5th/6th gen) and a 1080p screen. The 960m isn't wanted but I wont complain. Overall Im concerned about heat dissipation and at least 5/10 build quality. I.e. the laptop hinges won't turn to dust after 1 year.

I use a 15 laptop because it's cheap and good for gaming. I get a lot of power that I couldn't afford in a smaller laptop, and it probably doesn't even exist.
It is a bit too big, and bad battery life can be annoying, so my next computer will be smaller. Perhaps I'll just wait a few years, and keep this for gaming and use a small laptop for anime and travel and other stuff. Perhaps hybrids will be cheap and good enough then, it's a bit tempting because I've never tried using a tablet.
