Don't forget to get your 2GB free botnet storage anon

https://security.google.com/settings/security/secureaccount

Free 2GB Google Drive storage for doing a security check on your account (checking app permissions, checking security events, etc)
>>
Got 50GB when I got my Moto X. Haven't used a single byte. HDDs are pretty cheap and I set up a ftp server if I want something when I'm away.
>>
I get unlimited storage (files cannot be larger than 5tb) because my uni is partnered with google
>>

I don't transfer much stuck.

Because FTP isn't secure. At least use sftp
>>
>>52867983
Ok, but that is pretty much assumed in our modern and progressive times. And other than that there shouldn't be anything wrong?

It actually is SFTP, I just refer to it as ftp.

I'm somehow using 10 of 15 GB, I don't have any idea where so much stuff came out from
>>
>>52866829
Thanks, OP. It's added to previous years security bonus, so I have 4 GB now, 19 GB altogether. I use 13 GB now, so it comes on handy.

Thanks for the reminder family

Google Drive or email attachments
>>
>>52868266
Check if you got sync with google photos, if you do make sure to use "high quality" sync instead of "original" which uses account space. Also in photos.google.com settings use the "recover storage" button.
>>
>>52870587
I don't do any of that

I only use drive but I don't have that much shit on it... or maybe I do who knows
>>
>>52867511
Mostly presentations and ripped CDs I shared with some people who needed them.

Go here and hover the pie chart, it will show the breakdown of the used space.

A 64gb sd card is $15
Why jump through hoops to get "cloud storage" when you can easily set it up yourself?
Even if you add $10 for a domain and $45 for a rpi with charger, it still wouldn't cost you that much.
Hell, adding a TB of storage is cheap as fuck.
Why would you use some strangers computer for storage?
>>
>>52871151
I can barely upload 1gb in 3 hours

No thanks, I've got plenty.
>>
>>52871264
You don't have to jump through any hoops to get cloud storage, Google gives you 15gb for having a free account. If you want more than that, its easier, if a little more expensive, to use their system.

It requires very little technical knowledge, Google's servers are very fast, and it automatically stores any documents/ presentations/spreadsheets you make with their free software, which runs on their cloud.

That's probably why most people use it.
>>
>>52871564
same can be said for my owncloud server.
easy, requires very little technical knowledge, automatically stores your data and works well with the software that runs in the cloud.

Still 17GB here.

Fuck you, google!
>>
Thank you. Not that il ever fill it up
>>
>>52871657
>very little technical knowledge
I think you highly overestimate the technical knowledge of the average consumer. The average consumer isn't going to need anything more than 15 gb anyways.
>>
>>52867025
if your storage is going to expire, why would you need that in the first place? Upload 100 GB of shit just to get them removed after a while?
