What is the worst software you have ever had to use for school/work?
>>
>>52697366
I pretty much hated Matlab when I first had to use it.
>>
>>52697366
i read that the software used to program motorola radios is so ancient that most radio shops have a computer from the 1980's in the back just to get those working

how bad do you fail as a company to not even update a core piece of your product 30 years after the fact?
>>
a Digital Audio Workstation called "Mixcraft"
I will pull my own teeth out before I use it again
>>
KDE Plasma on Fedora 22
Crashed like shit when forwarding X applications, running a browser or simply existing. Irredeemably ugly as fuck with no amount of ricing able to save it, felt like a cheap knockoff of Windows 10 still desperately trying to cling on to luddites and XP migrants.

I bet, I always steered away from GNOME 3 just because of that ugly black shit alone.

This is the spiel my professor gave us

there was one dude who wrote all of his code in Jasmin/JVM assembly code most likely out of a displaced sense of arrogance and spite

I just did it and swore to never use java unless I really needed to ever again

A database software I used when I worked in a grocery store. If was fucking made in VB6 and was being used even in the year 2014
Why is it that all these shopkeepers always have some old ass software made in VB6 being used for billing. They never look at the database anyway
The UI was terrible and you couldn't tell if the software had written the details to the database file or not.

The software on old bending machines made by safan.

Running on top of win95.
It would allow project names with like max 12 character filenames meaning all those names were cryptic as fuck despite the fact that win95 introduced vfat and had no problems with longer file names.

When doing small elements at decent speed the whole thing would crash and reboot.
After reboot it booted the emergency mode.
And emergency mode didn't load drivers for touchscreen controls which is what the thing was using.
So you were fucking stuck.

Fuck that thing.
