program your mirror to give you compliments on your appearance when a camera detects movement.

make love with it

I have a regular pi 2 if i wanted to do that
>>
>>52695335
you could say that about literally any project. a pi2 will have a larger footprint on your mirror though.

if you don't do this, you will lose confidence and kill yourself. you have been warned

pihole?

I'm in the same situation as OP. Any embedded projects anyone can think of?

I was gonna actually make a game console and stuff it in a GBA case

Make a dellophonic verbirator

Glue razor blades to it, shove it up ass, then post pics.

That sounds lame. Make a game specifically for its architecture and whatever lcd you can lay hands on and build a custom case. Isometric graphics and a leveling system and a procedurally generated dungeon that you have to try and get to the end of (there is no end)

home media server that updates reddit every time you watch cuck porn with it

>making games

why would anyone make games anymore. there are so many games already made. you are just describing a roguelike, who needs another one of those: nobody
>>
>>52695580
It would be a cool project though. Like one of those old single-game lcd handhelds, but actually good. And you could add anime girls. How many roguelikes with anime girls are there? One arguably I guess but you get my point
>>
>>52695568
even if you were serious i cant make a home media server, living in dorm = no home network
>>
>>52695548
Thanks for the game idea famalam.
>>
>>52695479
What about audio? As I understand one would need to build an audio circuit for it, which seems tedious. It would be great as a small pcb though
>>
>>52695965
internet says use the audio usb device adafruit sells

I just realized, with the raspberry pi zero you could make an ip cam with pan and tilt for under 50 dollars. Add on 30 dollars more and you could make it wireless with like 4 hour battery. I suddenly want 10 of these
>>
>>52695279
make your own mp3 player?
>>
>>52695279
Pretty sure this "just bought X what should I do with it" is another dumb /g/ meme
>>
>>52696112
But you can buy an IP cam with pan&tilt off Amazon for $52 right now. It even has IR lights.
>>
>>52695279
Attach it to your fleshlight you fucking moron.
>>
Learn machine code for it and rewrite old arcade games it can handle manually
>>
>>52696226

You would have IR lights on the rpi ip cam too considering you would just be using an off the shelf webcam. You would also have the added benefit of a ton of gpio pins for whatever you want and a faster computer with which you can run some computer vision algorithms on.

put a camera on it and take naked pictures of your sister in the bathroom

this is a ~2008 pc, still ok for gaming
i want my next pc to be a fanless baby sbc, i think by 2018 they may surpass picrelated

I don't get people like you.
Instead of having a project and buying the tool best suited for it, be it a raspberry, a uc or an fpga or whatever, you buy a tool without knowing what to use it for.
For what purpose?

great. The only appeal of the raspberry pi are the GPIO pins. Otherwise it's just a weak computer with limited peripherials (besides GPIO), so do something with that.
>>
The rPi is a tool. Why would you buy a tool if you don't already know what you are going to use it for?
>>

>great. The only appeal of the raspberry pi are the GPIO pins. Otherwise it's just a weak computer with limited peripherials (besides GPIO), so do something with that.

I disagree, the main appeal is the price and power consumption despite it being a full computer. If you just wanted some IO pins would could just buy an arduino or something, it's far better for that as the timing is more accurate.
>>
>>52699419
Again it's better to use XP. You can't play new stuff on that PC, maximum is 2012-2013 games and even those would have low as shit FPS. On anything older XP will do fine and even faster.
Also It's still supported by MS, so you won't be left unsecured or with critical bugs.

why would anyone make music anymore. there is so much music already made. you are just describing jazz, who needs album of that: nobody

I host my website on my pi, which in turn is also my file host, with randomized filenames like sr.ht or pomf.se
>>
I am using mine as a SMS bot, steam trade bot and bitcoin mining remote. Its good not the zero the pi 2.
>>
>>52700864
music changes and everyone has the same access to be able to make music except that the roiland 808 costs like 5000 USD but still there are emulators

so even a joe can make music that competes with the coolest hip top 100, but games are different.

indie games never change in quality. there is only so much one guy can do. unless you think of a gimmick to add, it's just the same shit someone else has made 100 times already. for a roguelike, it's not even possible, every gimmick has already been made 20 times now. this is why you should not waste your time
>>
>>52696354
I second this. But the thing with the pi is the power supply to the unit and the camera unless camera is wifi and still power us problem
