Nah m8 I tried my best to disable the telemetry, to use no scripts, adblockers, proxies, access only https pages, but all the programs I use are on W10, Chrome is the fastest browser out there by far and Google always give me the best results when I search for something (I tried Bing, DuckDuckGo and Qwant)

Biggest thing is CPU and RAM. You can use a good GPU but honestly it's hardly needed at all. GPU based video rendering still isn't as good as CPU based rendering it's more useful for streaming than anything.

Danke schön! I am a bit slow with updates. Very comfortable with updates once every month.
I have jessie-backports to get latest stable Iceweasel. Thinking of leaving it for next extended support of Iceweasel, though. Just no point in upgrading it for every version.

add
deb http://mozilla.debian.net/ experimental iceweasel-aurora
to your /etc/apt/sources.list
update and upgrade, you also need some keyring or something.

There are a lot of other differences too
Like a lubuntu replace a lot of programs with their lightweight alternatives.

I installed this specifically because I wanted a lightweight distro

Thanks

My friend says tails is great, but it only uses TOR for internet browsing. I like that, but is TOR safe if I'm not doing anything illegal? I'm not into CP or supplying firearms for ISIS, and will be behind proxies. Are there alternatives to TOR or is it sufficient for people like me who just want some privacy?

there are quite a few attempts to make a better, more secure and more privacy oriented webs, have a look at freenet, hyperbolia(cjdns), i2p, gnunet and freifunk. correctly configured tor is the easiest way and secure enough for normal browsing.
