Building a new PC soon. What you guys think of the build? Price is in CAD BTW so if you are in US its about $1270.

Here is a link to the build for better viewing.

MMk. What's the problem with a 970? ive read some reviews that say it really only has 3.5GB but other than that i dont see an issue. Its the best card you can get unless you wanna spend 900+ and im definitely not going over my $500 budget on it.
>>
>>52682222
Im not saying its perfect. but if you can build a btter gaming PC in the same $1800CAD Budget for me then tell me what to change. making fun of the build isn't constructive at all.
>>
>>52682162
don't buy a skylake k processor, there is no point

that ssd is absolutely shit, get a 850 evo

nvidia is a shit company and 970 is meme get a 390 instead

get a no cx psu

pcie network cards are a meme

You see, anon, predominately poor people browse this board and will talk shit about your build unless you buy a 10 year old used memepad. Your better off going to /r/buildapc. People there will actually give you good advice, and won't be salty because you actually have money to spend.

i recently bought a tp-link archer t9e and it's dogshit. 5ghz band has no range. i'm assuming the t8e is the same

/g is filled with a bunch of amd shills so its best to ignore them.

they shill for amd for simply not wanting amd to file for bankruptcy.

there is zero things wrong with the 970 and if you're gaming at 1080p, its the best price + performance card to get.

pic related, my 390 crossfire setup i had that i swapped with 970's shortly after due to them being massive house fires and shitty drivers.

the r9 390 is objectively the better card.
if op was to spend more money, i would recommend the 980 ti, but at this pricepoint amd wins.
>>
>>52682514
no but you are for thinking a haf xb evo is a small form factor case.

2x 140mm 3,000rpm intake fans with 2x 120mm 2000 rpm fans on the lid directly above them as exhaust.

they're house fires.

It's like the worst time EVER to build a pc in canada right now. Prices are ridiculously high. You should of built one before the holidays ended. Black friday had some pretty good deals and so did new years. But anyways assuming gaming

>i5 6600k

Skylake is kind of shit and it's not worth the price atm, ESPECIALLY not in Canada. Get haswell to lower the prices for your ram and motheboard.

>kingston SSD

Yeah this is shit. 850 EVO 250gb was only 99$ for a good 2-3 months. I would still buy one as it's the best price/performance SSD right now and will be for a while.

>970

r9 390. I'm not going to explain why. Nvidia is expensive as fuck in canada and there is nohting wrong with amd. People are just retarded

>Corsair h100i

Get a noctua nh d15. It's cheaper + it's better in almost every way possible. Unless of course you don't have enough space or ram clearance.

>tp link archer

Why the fuck do you need this

>corsair cx600w

Terrible psu for a terrible cost. Evga g2 600w was 99$ at ncix right after new years. It's 1 of the best psu's on the market. I'm sure you can find a better psu then that corsair shit. The only good brand is the rmX series. If you don't care then just get the cheapest 80+ bronze 600w psu

my 8350 i bought after listening to you fucks about "MUH AMD SO GREAT, INTEL SO JEW AND SHIT, BUY AMD, SAVE THE CUMPUNY!!"

didn't last more than two months until i offloaded that thing to someone else and went back to intel with a 4670k - 4790k - and now a 6700k.

the 8350 was nothing more than a slow ass house fire cpu that couldn't even run skyrim or even fucken WoW decently with its shitty ass single threaded performance. all awhile heating up my room 8C and increasing my electric bill $5 a month.

the 390s where no different. power hogs that produced an insane amount of heat plagued by amd's cannot into software shitty ass drivers causing games to crash every few hours.

don't believe that? look at this 75 page thread that was growing till amd locked it.
https://community.amd.com/thread/183430?start=1110&tstart=0
started in june and grew until october when it was locked.

and people still complain about the same fucken tdr's to this day.

> Asus z170-a

Should I buy a r9 390 or a 970? Keep in mind I've only got 500w to play with. PCPP said my system would be at around 474w with an r9 and about 350w with a 970.

Upgrade your PSU and pick whichever you prefer. I'd say 970 because it generally runs cooler and has superior driver support but if 3.5 really bothers you then go 390.
>>
>>52683319

I just bought the PSU last week. This is a brand new build. Will it manage a 970 G1 or is it very risky?
>>
>>52683330
Most likely it should be fine but I've personally always taken a better safe than sorry approach to my PSUs. If you aren't going to get a higher wattage then definitely go 970 over 390.
>>
>>52683517

Thanks for the info mate. I've read up on it and most people reckon 500w is "fine" for a 970, but don't push OCing. So I'll see how I go and upgrade in the future.

i have the t9e and the driver does not let you switch bands for some reason. you can connect to 2.4ghz, but it will still have shit range for some reason. my cheap acer laptop shows all of my neighbors wifi networks, the t9e only shows my own, and only at 4 bars, despite the router being away less than 4 meters with no walls in between. at first i thought the card was broken, i tried it out in the living room when i got my new rig and it didn't show any networks at all. i wasn't aware of the 5ghz limitations until i read up on it after trying to 'fix' the card for hours. i really regret spending 60 bucks on it and i'm just going to get a cheap 2.4ghz wifi usb stick in the future. worst purchase i've made in years, but it's my own fault.
