First you have to dissolve the glue (or sticky pads as he calls them) and pry them loose one by one.

Lenovo G570. Upgraded CPU to i7, ram to 8GB, 512GB ssd as boot, 2TB samsung as data. I have also replaced the full casing, as it suffered from the lenovo hinge problem. Reinforced hinges with 6 M3-16 bolts, nylock nuts. Added internal hub with a 600mbs network card and dstv receiver, tucked into the optical drive caddy.
Macbook pro, late 2008. Upgraded to 8gb ram, boot drive is 256gb ssd, data drive is 1tb samsung, scratch drive is 128gb expressport.
Also modded bottom shell with 2 vents for extra cooling, with removable filters.
I have no major complaints. They just work great for me.
