Holy shit, did Pale Moon just get noticeably faster? I'm not sure what the engine change exactly pertains, but the UI seems more responsive too, or am I imagining this shit?

JS is everyfuckingwhere you dindu. Better js performance MEANS faster rendering, and I want to know if palememe's engine is any good on this front. You can also run browsermark.

JS is not purely for rendering/modifying elements and in most cases people don't use it for such

>>52668836
Good sites with JS load so heavy that it affects your rendering time significantly are rare if not non-existent outside of HTML5 games and similar. Testing for JS only to define browser speed is dumb.

Going from 200ms down to 100ms is significant, yet insignificant at the same time. It's twice the speed, yet it's barely perceptible.

I can't. I'm using a jailed, heavily modified version of ESR version (38.5.0) of firefox and I'd have to overwrite it for testing purposes. Furthermore, I am on gentoo and compiling firefox (and palememe, for that matter) would take some time. Never mind the fact Palememe have yet to add 26 to their overlay https://gpo.zugaina.org/Overlays/palemoon/www-client/palemoon meaning I would also have to fix the ebuild.

Shit sorry, I mixed npapi with the what's-its-name API related to xul. Mozilla is about to replace xul (with html I think) and that will break most all current existing add-ons (not plugins) and most likely severely limit what new add-ons can do.

Renaming something doesn't change what it is. Goanna is an ancient version of Gecko with some minor tweaks. Maybe one day it'll be something more, but it sure as fuck isn't right now.
