This, Windows 10 users should just accept the botnet. You need new scripts now, and it's impossible to make a easy check if the telemetry is on or not. It is activated when the user does things like opening a browser, clicking a link or opening a image file. It's not likely that these winbabbies are going to turn it off. The software they run to turn it off is placebo and likely botnets itself. If you don't want your OS spying on you then your only choice is Linux.

It's not about the OS, it's about the software.
I use my desktop mostly for gaming and Adobe, I rarely browse. I'm not running Linux with a VM or dualbooting just for some light browsing. I use my mobile to browse now.
