>>
I know your pain. Don't have home internet currently. Phone plan has only 500mb faster internet (5ish mbit) and then throttles to 56k
>>
I have 21MB 3G on my plan with 20Gb data.
Now for some reason it changet to 4G max speed and still says on management that I have only 3G.
I wont complain.

My gf has unlimited data and her internet was being slow at the time so i used her phone as a hotspot for my ps3, it worked but after a minute it disconnected and said that she does not own a hotspot subscription or some shit. Do unlimitedfags not get to use hotspot without paying?

I guess they got their shit together. Phone service is always reliable and the amount of spark lte zones is growing. Boost is offering cheap data plans compared to verizon and at&t, of course niggers will flock over to boost mobile. And other races that don't want to get cucked to death by phone companies.

tfw you pay 10$ for unlimited 4G, never had a throttle (wasted more than 50GB month) and get stable speeds
>>
>>52655782
I'm sure they have, but the stigma is there. It took T-Mobile years to become acceptable among my in groups because way back when, they used to slap hidden fees out the ass onto bills and had shit coverage.

That still leaves one other problem with Boost though. The only unlocked phones that work on it are iPhones. I'd consider switching to Boost, but I have to buy a new phone out of pocket to do so. Said phone is likely going to be shit unless I spent at least $200 on a used flagship.

You don't need a flagship to do most things. LG Volt actually has really decent specs for the price. The fm radio and ir blaster is pretty cool too.

You must bypass it. Normally those greedy bastards will make you pay for a hotspot but, it can be easilly bypassed if you possess the correct knowledge.
>>
>>52656247
I'm just pointing out that Boost Mobile is hardly what I'd call the best deal in mobile right now for those reasons.

Having to buy a new phone at out-of-pocket prices? Not being able to bring over your old phone? $200 phones that are far worse than the "$200" phone that their contract helped pay for? A bad reputation from a long history of poor quality service across the board? All of this comes together to sour Boost Mobile as a whole. Especially when companies like T-Mobile offer prepaid plans of similar value, and MVNOs like MetroPCS and Cricket both offer comparable plans (though Cricket is admittedly throttled). I'd argue T-Mobile is the better value right now because of their controversial shit like Binge On.

I mean think about it. As a customer, what do I care if T-Mobile gives me a smaller data pool than Boost when T-Mobile doesn't count things like Spotify and Netflix against your data cap. For most normies that's a superior deal despite the numbers on paper.

Feels good man. T-mobile says they throttle after 22gb but I have hit 60gb in the past and they didn't even give me a heads up let alone throttle.

On my unlimited plan I get 5gb of hotspot data.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xy8v-AAT0GY&feature=youtu.be
>>
>>52657705
Have you not been reading the news? Music Freedom has been a thing for a while where several music services aren't counted against the data cap, even on prepaid plans. Then they put out BingeOn that doesn't count stuff like Netflix, HBO, etc.

BingeOn got a lot of controversy when it was revealed that barring prepaid customers, everybody was automatically enrolled in the service despite said service throttling sites like Youtube that weren't on the list.

But again, normies don't care about that, they care that their Spotify and Netflix eat up their data that they'd rather be wasting on cat videos, instagram, and snapchat.

This is why I have no problem at all with people rooting their phones and fucking over phone companies every way possible. Literally every other country in the world has actual competition among carriers and provides actual value.

In the US? The government basically says "Okay you four companies play nice now, have fun!" and they can do whatever the fuck they want and there are no alternatives. Fuck telecomm companies. Fuck all of them.
>>
>>52657752
I had seen those advertised but assumed it was some sort of shitty proprietary service they were offering. I usually don't really pay much attention to telecom companies, pretty much the same thing as cable companies to me. All serving the same shit sandwich. I'm also not a regular lurker or poster here, and don't really keep up with tech-related stuff.
>>
>>52657620
Well that binge on thing doesn't cover youtube which I would argue is a more frequently used service by normies.

At the end of the day boost mobile still has one of the cheapest unlimited high speed lte plan out there ($60) at least in burgerland. T-mobile wants 95 fucking dollars for that same plan.

But with all the stigma attached to boost mobile, not many people may jump onboard I guess yeah. Probably a good thing to be honest. I get 20-30 Mbps on spark lte most of the time and if floods of normies joined, then those speeds would probably be greatly reduced to accommodate the influx of subscribers.

Paying $125/mo for two phones in 'Murrica

You would think Youtube is the big user, but it really isn't. Compare Youtube to Netflix and consider the amounts of data being used. Most people aren't watching videos longer than 10 minutes on Youtube, and even then that doesn't guarantee 1080p. Netflix on the other hand is a 90+ minute film that likely will be in 1080p. Netflix chews through a lot more data a lot faster.

Also comparing the price of the unlimited plans isn't the best comparison when you take these services into account. It's something like $40 for 2.5 GB of data on T-Mobile, but then you consider being able to use unlocked phones (read: bring your phone over from another GSM carrier or being able to more easily get and use a used phone) and the Music Freedom and BingeOn services. Suddenly having a data cap simply isn't a big deal to the vast majority of people.

NOOOO, stay the fuck away from cricket. That shit is radioactive garbage. Those dumbasses use AT&T networks and the data service is just fucking awful.

My aunt has them and her internet is always slow as fuck (~1mbps) even though she hasn't used up her data and is on lte.

I've heard of many other people having shitty data service with cricket so I don't think it's just that my aunt lives in a place with too many cricket cucks using the networks at once.

I guess it's a good deal for normies but I really don't like it.

A.) Doesn't this shit break net neutrality laws?

B.) This means a huge invasion of privacy. Now T-Mobile will know exactly what their customers watch and like. They could mine this data and sell it to corporations or the NSA.

Really?

All these faggots on Reddit are saying that Cricket's data service is one of the best for prepaid.

My speeds on Straight Talk are garbage as well, but I absolutely need At&t's coverage. ST doesn't have usage data or Visual Voicemail as well, so I'm thinking about trying something different after nearly four years.

Do you know of a good MVNO that uses at&t's towers?
>>
>>52658247
What net neutrality laws? And yeah they can sell whatever, I would imagine. I'd have to look at the user agreement. I am fairly sure my verizon one says they can sell my shit (in implicit terms). Whether they do sell it probably depends on what it costs to mine and package it, how much they can get for it, how or if the sale of the data has to be disclosed to anyone, etc.

May not be right, but that's the way things are man. Public attitudes about data privacy and such aren't going to change until some huge, terrible thing happens.
>>
>>52658437
None, they're all garbage. I dropped at&t a year ago because my lte would frequently choke and just not give me internet at all. There's something seriously wrong with at&t networks and they don't want to admit it. When my lte did work it would vary between 2-4 mbps which isn't really that great.

The SIM is for LTE, that's it. The phone is still CDMA based and can't be used on GSM carriers. This has rare exceptions like the Verizon Prepaid Moto E, but most of the time it holds true.

>>52658437
Cricket is literally throttled to 8Mbit speeds at all times. Reddit only says they're good because it's AT&T's level of coverage, but it's still shit speeds.

Do you really think that AT&T would just let people use their towers at full capacity despite paying 1/4 to 1/2 what they normally would for such service?

>>
>>52658847

>>
>>52659198
Yeah, my personal phone is on T-Mobile and I have no problems with it outside of coverage. I use it with my HTC M8 GPE, so it's excellent for getting work done.

I use Straight Talk with my iPhone 5s, and I've never had any serious issues with it. I get great coverage and domestic roaming, and it works great with iMessage and Facetime. I guess I'm just curious of other options.
>>
>>52655335

Thank you Hungarian telekom (t-mobile)
>>
>>52659252
