I so badly want to switch to lunix and embrace the freedom but fuck I cant cause of some nagging issues with no solution to them. My laptop has hidpi and so many programs have scaling issues specifically eclipse which I have to use.... How can I scale apps with hidpi issues?

netbeans supports hidpi just fine on my pixel 2, but I'm not sure about eclipse.
You can add a window zoom toggle in compiz if font size is a problem. My biggest problem is with soapui. The entire request/response pane is unscaled, and UI elements are often unreadable.
I attribute this to soapui being shit more than anything though. Once mir/Wayland release, we should see a per-window dpi capability emerge.
