I use it to do quick scripts to fix shitty problems at work.
For example, our game has to be sent as an eclipse project for the publisher to be able to include their own ads api on it. I wrote a script to generate a eclipse project from the proguard output and a gradle android subproject. Don't ask me why they cant use the gradle build config I wrote. I'm amazed by the info and graphs you can get from sonarqube.
Other time I used python with re module to transform the custom file format of a game.

Python is good for testing little chunks of logic and such on the fly. Id never use it in a full program, although for one program i did use a system call to run a bit of python in my C++
(inb4 system calls. It only gets called once, relax.)
