Also r8?

I think it's better to save up money for a good watch for each occasion (daily/sports/dress) than to buy several similar, cheap ones.
Is it possible that wearing a wristwatch causes pain in my left forearm/wrist? It's not even heavy or anything, so I'm a bit confused
This just came today,
Stock image I'm afraid
So pumped, looks gorgeous.
Not a fan of the strap clasp
>>52637406
I only did that so I could contribute to these threads and feel like my life is worth something

>needs a proper diver strap / why didn't you put the pepsi bezel on that?
>put the bracelet back on you faggot, or get a nato
>less tasteless watch/strap combo in the collection

>again, strap
3/10, you really blew it with the straps.
>>52637455
>/g/'s brutally honest confession
>>52637230
You need to work on your taste.
>>52637438
How is the strap itself?
>>52637438
I'm kinda sick of seeing this watch, this and that fliegeresque seiko 5.
It's been on massdrop like a million times in the past year.
>>52637460
Need to take an update pic once i get the LM special and the new Raketa.
>slav Seiko 5, kinda unique
Comes with handwinding, and up for sale soon
>nice looking and practical
Selling it.
>oh shit nigger what are you doing?
Going full nigger on it
>needs a proper diver strap / why didn't you put the pepsi bezel on that?
Picking up the new 090 case for it tomorrow, not a lot of decent 18mm straps i'm afraid.
>put the bracelet back on you faggot, or get a nato
No bracelet for it i'm afraid, plus it looks better on leather.
>less tasteless watch/strap combo in the collection
Yup
>meh and obsolete
Really nigga?
>again, strap
On a black nato for now.
>>52637455
Buy a Vostok and make a real contribution to the thread.
>>52637407
What kind of a pain is it and have you only just recently started to wear watches? Maybe you're not use to wearing something on your wrist. Only other thing i can think of os the strap is irritating you or something, more details and i may be able to comprehend whats wrong.
>>52637603
I've started wearing this watch a few months ago, I don't know if that is enough time to get used to it or not. It's not the strap as far as I can tell as it's not very tight nor does it rub or do anything to my skin, the pain is more from the inside and I only feel it when turning around my wrist a bit.
I'll just wear it on my right wrist for a few weeks now, maybe it'll stop hurting then. Might be tendinosis or something related as well though as I've started working out a few weeks ago.
>>52637701
Stop wanking. Problem solved.
>>52637529
Very good just my wrist is quite big so the clasp happens then straight away it's like the end of the strap . looks ridiculous
>>52637741
So you're saying the strap is too short? The clasp isn't the problem then.
Also, is it a deployant clasp, or a tang and buckle?
>>52637376
Nice cheapo collection, you probably know me already from these threads. I'm the guys with the 2 3133 chronographs and some other cheap Slavshit.
I have two new ruskies incoming, a Raketa 24h I posted on the previous thread and a day-date Slava, pic related.
How does it compare to your Raketa? Do they both have the same movement maybe? I wonder why you want to get rid of it, it's a really cool piece.
>>52637406
No. You are never satisfied with one watch, you will always want more. I tought the same after buying my first mechanical watch for almost 600€, now i have 3 mechanical watches, and 4 quartz watches.
Also
Expensive=/= good
There is much more than just the price when it comes to watches. The pleb consumer only sees the price and brand. Somebody who really likes watches cares about other things.
>>52637455
Get your feels together mate, your watches are fine, stop being jewed by media and marketing.
I got more positive feedback on my casio mq 24 than on my 600€ zeppelin.
Just an example tho. I love wearing both, not a price whore.
>>52637406
This is exactly what I have planned to do.
>>52637959
>Expensive=/=good
But often good = expensive. But this is of course a matter of taste. Rarely do I find any of the watches posted here appealing.
>>52638052
Post watches you find appealing then
>>52637950
Pretty sure both have the 2427 movements, solid movement overall but i don't wear it often and the lack of quickset is annoying. And it's rather thick with a weird case shape, even the 420 Amphibia feels more natural.
I'm getting a really nice Raketa 2609 which ticks all the boxes right, dagger hands, no date and better case design.I've been eyeing for one like this for a while, and I got a couple of replacement crowns that will fit it a lot better then the current one.
>>52638052
Sometimes yes, build quality wise. But it is hard to tell apart, at least for me. I have expensive and also cheap watches, and sometimes struggle to see which are clearly better considering the price difference.
I mean, my 80€ dugena quartz divers case and dial are not worse than my 400€ junkers.
>>52637701
I don't see any reason for the watch to be at fault then, wear it on the other side for a week or so, of the pain doesn't stop, go get it checked out. But as far as i know it's nothing to do with the watch.
How long has the pain lasted and does your job or anything you've done lately required you to put stress on your left arm? Hell for all i know you slept on it oddly. Like i said, best bet/advice is if the pain doesn't go in a week whilst you wear your watch on the right wrist, go see a doctor to make sure its nothing serious.

>>52638825
Oh, sorry that i am not owning a patek.
Care to post your watches then?
R8 my list of watches i plan to buy within the next year or two (I'll buy them when i can afford them)
Maison Celadon - Imperial
Seiko - Alpinist
Sea-Gull - 1963
Orient - Ray
Vostok - Amphibia
Vostok - Komandirskie
Beijing Watch Factory - Mount Everest
>>52639127
Great
Meme but decent
Meme but good
Meme and shit
Meme but great x2
Mount Everest best choice on list and largely original also of good quality
>>52639127
Good that you got rid of that ugly ass looking cock from the other list.
I'd start with either the Ray or one of the Vostoks first.
>>52639202
>ray
>shit
you wot
>>52638825
Anon? So where are you, i am waiting for your watches. I mean, yeah, my zeppelin and junkers are dogshit, but where are your watches then? Post them, you little cocksucker.
>>52639240
Agree. I was hoping to get either the Alpinist this year along with the Celadon, then the Sea-Gull, than either the Orient or Mount Everest. Meanwhile saving i was hoping I'd have the spare $40 to get one of the Vostok's.
Only issue is am not sure where to go once i complete this current list, so am free to take advice, i guess i could always get a Casio but am not a big fan of quartz movements. Any advice?
Also every watch i get i promise I'll unbox for the first time in thread.
>>52639334
You'll have a year or two to collect, and your taste and preferences might change during that time. I know mine did.
You might even buy vintages ones.
>>52639264
Stay mad that someone pointed out that you were comparing chink made "german" garbage to cheap watches and being surprised that there was no notable difference in quality :^)
>>52639386
Tbh in the future (when I'm more financially stable and where i don't have to save for months like i am atm) i was planning on trying to get some vintage Omegas but i haven't put too much plan into yet.
At this moment in time am really loving high/mid tier Japanese and Chinese watched hence my love for Celadon. But hopefully in the future I'll move towards feeding the mountainjew, hell my first watch was the Hamilton Khaki afterall.
>>52639550
>Feeding the mountain jew
That's why you go for vintages Omegas or other pre-Richmont and pre-Swatch takeover vintage Swiss brands.
>>52639590
I see what you're getting at anon, and I'd love to get into that in the future. But for now while am still considerably new to watch collecting I'll stick to the watches straight from the supplier. Once am more experienced I'll start looking for vintage, then i have less of a chance of getting some shitty fake and getting ripped off on an Omega that looks like it's been through hell and back.
>>52639671
I'm in the same boat as far as vintage swiss goes.
Though vintages slav watches are my specialty, go buy a Vostok and enjoy it.
Now it's 1am and i'm piss tired, so gn.
>>52639718
Night anon and thanks for the advice. Hopefully I'll cya soon on /wt/.
>>52637376
>mostly filled with cheap divers
Why?
>>52639482
>someone
Funny how you pretend that you are not the same guy who wrote it.
No, i am not mad, just curious. What watches do you own, i mean, you are here on a watch forum. Where are your watches bitch boy?
What diver would go with a speedmaster? Planet ocean?
I kinda want to get a handwind watch just to have one. Any suggestions? Something simple, and not expensive. Everyday sort of watch.
>inb4 handwind watches are wrist fedoras
>>52639846
Vintage seamaster 300.
>>52640028
Vintage anything
>>52640028
Parnis panerai homage. Has a genuine decorated swan neck hand wind movement.
>>52640087
How's Fortis? I see a bunch of them. And what's up with all the indian sellers? Jesus.
>>52640028
Vostok Komandirskie.
>>52640144
Man, those are really cool.
Thanks anon!
>>52640114
I have ordered 3 watches from India, and they all broke within days. They "repair" watches and resell them.
>>52640079
Borealsi Estoril 300m is looking like a option, but it has no bracelet, which honestly, is disgrace.
>>52640356
Could probably throw a super engineer on it at least.
>>52640370
Nah, has to have matching endlinks. I don't know why they would do that since people do pay extra for bracelets...
>>52640144
Well, just bought one. Pretty cheap too. but I guess that's because the ruble is worth nothing. Like with steam games.
>>52639846
What does it mean to 'go with?' It's not like you'll wear them both at once.
>>52640864
Well a diver and a chrono is completely different, one can't be worn the beach, one can't be worn to the moon :^)
>>52640941
except le man on le moon would be completely fine for the beach
if you want to cover a wider range of situations, buy a dress watch
Made a minute loop with the chronograph running.
You can see in the last few moments before a minute has elapsed on the chronograph seconds that the minute hand moves one graduation.
>>52641371
Youd never know this was an very expensive watch. Same goes for the speedy though...
>>52641058
Yeah, if youre not WIS it would be. But also 50m resistance means you have to take it off for swimming... Probably going with the Borealis since I guess my speedy bracelet could fit if its an good of an copy of omega case
>>52641433
The intricate dial makes it look more expensive than the speedy, imo.
>>52641371
Got any pics of the movement now?
>>52641462
Nah mate, you couldnt see a difference if that shit was stamped, no offence but tbqh it looks like an expensive fossil and even the name has less weight in nornies mouth than fossil...
Which watches I own has nothing to do with POINtec's outsourced watches being less German than Stowas and one should not be surprised that they done comprehensively outclass ~$100 watches.
If you want to spend $500 USD equivalent and get something that will shit all over a $100 USD equivalent watch you would be limited to choosing from Seiko or a few micro-brands that offer exceptional values.
>>52641462
The sun is down now, I could maybe do images of the movement in artificial light tonight.
>>52639846
I'd suggest a circumcised dick in your mouth, but you already have one of those :^)
>>52641641
He posted it again! Why do you even care so much? I was just asking for suggestions. Might as well just get the PO then for fucks sake.

>>52641371

>>52641760
The difference is the fossil looks like shit, and has a cheap movement in it.
>>52641523
>>52641760
I guess my joke about it looking like a Fossil stuck...
This is now a Fossil thread, post your dogshit here.
>>52641795
Ironically that's one of your strongest shots
>>52641371
If you wanted something ugly squandering a perfectly good Seiko 6S movement, why didn't you just buy a TAG?
>>52641795
Sorry didnt even see that you have made such a comment, its just what comes into mind. Sorry Nine but gotta be honest with senpai
>>52641876
Funny how I seem to get better photos out of watches I like the least.
I need some new stuff to shoot, anybody want to volunteer to mail me a cool watch? I may even return it eventually if I decide not to keep it.
>>52641760
That's a fake chrono. Mine is a real chrono. That comes on a 3 dollar piece of white 'leather,' mine came on a 316L stainless steel bracelet with alternating brushed and polished surfaces.
Really at best what you're suggesting is that it is the watch fossil would make if they could manage to make higher quality watches.
>>52641780
How does it not equally look like shit? The perimeter of the dial has the disgusting cutouts that looks like these shitty skeleton watches, and the textures are gaudy as well. Not to mention the poor printing in the closeups in the last thread. I found pictures of the blue model, and even that looks quite a bit better than this white one.
It's frankly hilarious, you Google "Credor" and every single one looks far better than his. Did he shop the bargain bin just so he could say he had one?
>>52641877
I prefer to get my Seiko movements in Seiko watches, personally. Also that's 43mm
>>52641708
As much as i love the dark blue, I'd pick the white, it looks amazing with blue hands. You going to get one anon?
>>52642013
Definitely considering it. Getting the new series in white with blued hands + blued indices would cost more than the blue dial though.
>>52641948
You really bring truth to the whole wrist fedora meme. I hope you're proud.
>"B-but it was expensive!"
>>52642052
True, but with watches, and especially with the Imperial series, just get what you want because if there's any watch thats going to make you feel great whilst wearing it, its the looks of an Imperial.
>>52642087
Oh please.
>>52642205
>But muh materials!
>Muh finishing!
If you're spending that much why not get something that looks good AND is well made?
>>52641459
Hmm? Aren't speedmasters 100m? Which would be absolutely suitable for swimming.
Though might just depend on the model.
>>52642239
All I'm able to tell you is that if the only thing separating something like the fossils you're posting and nice watches like a datejust or RO extra-thin is basic dial layout then I really don't have an answer to your questions.
>>52642337
General rule is don't swim with a chrono, unless the pushers also screw down.
>>52642087
>nice credor! Wear it in good health
:^)
>>52642354
Where did I mention Rolex or Audemars Piguet? I'm calling out your Credor. Again, if you're buying something well made why not get something that looks good and unique too? Why is that so hard to answer?
>>52642432
I wouldn't have compared the fossil to the credor because you said it is a fossil. That wouldn't have served my point very well.
>>52642455
You're still not answering my question. Why so flabbergasted?
>>52642480
I'm not flabbergasted, but when you can't tell the difference between a fossil pretending to be a chrono, a fossil using a subdial for the chrono seconds hand, and my watch, I'm just not the man to explain everything to you. Nor am I the man who explain things to you is if all you can see when looking at the watch is the dial. That's simply more /fa/ territory posting than I'm able to help you with.
>>52642539
>Why not get something that looks good and unique too?
>"It's not a Fossil!"

Really a lot of bang for your buck. The decoration is neat too. But solid like a fukken tank.
>>52643693
Get a jackstontse / Getat then, or even a rep, the Panerai (and IWC) ones are nearly indistinguishible from genunine ones. Richemont quality people.

>>52637407
When I first got my steinhart it was pretty damn uncomfortable. I had to find the right number of links and their placement on either side because the clasp is kind of awkwardly curved.
I've always preferred a leather band to a bracelet but the longer I wear this the more I like the bracelet. Opinions?
>>52644321
Bracelets on watches that suit it, same for straps.
Who collect retro digital watches here?
>>52639240
The ray is shit, but I've already outlined my reasons for thinking so to >>52639127.

Testing my new nylon strap on my beater watch before I put it on my seiko diver
>>52644852
Well some of us may have missed it.
I personally don't like the Ray for the following reasons.
>mineral crystal
>day/date
>day pusher
>cheap bracelet
>>52645087
yes but there are rebecca black archives.
The bezel is also ugly and unreplacable, and the lume pip is just a blob of lume without protection. The bezel is rarely aligned and requires a file to set correctly. The date window easily falls out. That pusher is horrific because it unscrews of its own accord (metal on metal), the rubber strap is terrible and it's an automatic only watch.
It has good lume and is better than the mako. I can't believe it's as popular as it is.
>>52644126
Completely different styles that cannot be compared.
>>52641708
Where can i find that brand? that blue one is nice
>>52645180
>rebecca black archives
So when did the installgentoo archives go down? That had older posts in it
>>52645462
A long time ago? I don't know, I've only ever used rebecca black
>>52645479

>>52645506
Running in parallel for a least a few years it looks like, Rebbecca black looks like it came up like late 2011, but I don't remember it from back then I don't think. It may have pulled some of installgentoo's archive when it came up, but then I would wonder why it wouldn't just pull it all

There's little difference between those because they were made the same way, probably in the same factory in guangzhou. The only difference is the price you paid for each.

>>52647979
Ah, it's fine.
>>52647994
You've been copping heat for your watch. Can you post a photo of it, I can't view webms on my iPad, only saw it briefly last thread when I was quite tired. I'm talking a decent picture of of the face and maybe one from afar, and how's the bracelet on it
>>52648022
Here you go mate, look at that dial, so intricate!
>>52641795
I also think it looks like a fossil
>>52637569
What is that "slav Seiko 5" (the one on the far left on the image in >>52637376 )? How much do they go for usually?
Is the Tissot Visodate any good? I know it's in the poorfag guide but people here seems to dislike the Swiss.
>>52648039
Top banter
>>52648077
Best watch tissot make. It might be a touch thick for some people's tastes, it isn't even that thick desu. People here don't like some Swiss brands because they are deceptive, they use a very loose defintion of "Swiss made" to sell you a watch manafactued in China, most of these are still decent quality, however the price isn't justified, if you stick to the visodate from tissot you will be getting a good watch for a good price
>>52648022
Bracelet is fine. Alternating brushed and polished surfaces on it, but it's hard to tell it in photos because the brushing on any of the surfaces is not very deep. Link undersides are flat but are short so still comfortable. Uses pins, no taper, same clasp as GS. So pretty nice, but downgrade from GS overall.
I don't have an image of it from afar at the moment. And the images of the movement came out like shit under artificial light, so I'll try that tomorrow during the day.
>>52648065
That's a Raketa 2627.H, they're nice movements overall. Automatics with handwinding.

Cheers m8 exactly the photo I was after. I'm hoping you aren't letting people on the Internet influence your life in terms of watches too much, after giving a closer look to the intricacy of the dial I like it a lot more then I first did. I think it's a half decent attempt at a modern looking chronograph, but for me personally a speedmaster professional would be the only chronograph I would own, you said before you owned a speedy, why did you sell it?
>>52648077
>but people here seems to dislike the Swiss.
People dislike the swiss ripoff.
These lower end brands aren't exactly swiss, but if you like the styling and watch as whole and are happy with the price then go ahead.
If you want to be more careful with money then you'll do your research to see what else is available for the price you are willing to spend.
For lower end "swiss" you could also consider Mido, Certina and Hamilton.
Go greymarket for best prices.

Quality and feel wasn't up to what I wanted for a watch of that price. I had posted about it a little here when I had it.
At this point if I bought a speedmaster, it would be a pre-moonwatch, ST105 omega, for the rarity of the piece.
>>52648236
Hahahahaha. Youre on your A game tonight. Play nice but, don't want this guy to up and leave to another forum, he has decent watches and knows a thing or two
https://youtu.be/qCBLFZvPu4w
>>52648249
I can see where you're getting at, moon watches are a touch pricey, a reduced is reasonably priced, quite reasonably on the second hand market, but I really don't like the sub dial spacing on them. Not seeing eye to eye with you on the Earlier model, need to get a MAN ON THE MOON FUCKER, of you are into horology and science (myself) a vintage moon watch is very appealing
>>52648272
>Not seeing eye to eye with you on the Earlier model, need to get a MAN ON THE MOON FUCKER
You're going to have to read up on speedmaster history and terminology, while the ST105 is a 'pre-moon' speedmaster, but it's actually the one that went to the moon.
>>52648292
Though you were referring to the fugly looking one that most certainly didn't go to the moon, my bad. I don't know reference number for watches and I never will
>>52648327
>and I never will
Yeah, you say that now. But someday you'll know all the reference numbers of the watches you have, and even more so for the ones you want. As well as lots of others.
>>52648371
Nah, better things to keep in stored up in the limited space in my brain. I've got a whole bunch of facts that may have to take a hit if I start remembering reference numbers
Living in such a resource filled epoch with the internet and such I can get away with no remembering them
>tfw I will never own a snowflake
So /wt/s obsession over early analog quartz kinda died down, how long before early LCD becomes a meme? I'd be one of the cool kids getting on the bandwagon early, since I got one of these laying around from around 1977.
>>52648396
And then you'll get like a 311.30 (current moonwatch) and your friend will have a 3750, and someone will bring up the older non-premoon speedmasters that use the 861 instead of the 1861 movement, and about how the speedmaster gained a jewel a couple years before the switchover in 1996 (that puts the speedmaster at 18 jewels.) And you'll probably be interested because it's about the watch you like and then you'll start to remember it.
Can you settle this ubiquitous watch decision /wt/
Blue dials or Black dials?
>>52648636
Some look better in blue, some in black.
>>52648636
Seamaster: blue
Planet ocean: black
Submariner: 24k karat gold phuckkkkaaaa!!
>>52648636
Blue is the last wavelength to be filtered out at depth when you're diving (red being the first) which is why a blue face is easier to read below about 20m. Which is (one of the reasons) why they make blue faced diving watches.
Anyway, this is mine.
>>52648925
Sounds like horseshit. Why do they make bright/neon colored diving gear then including all those orange dive watches?
>>52648968
The bright coloured dive gear is for visibility on the surface, not so much at depth. And remember, a torch will bring the colours back at depth.
Orange? No idea. I only know what I've read and been told. I've never actually done independent research into it.
Is the Submariner the best "tool" watch you can get in the $7,000+ range?
>>52641371
By any chance do you happen to be a brown nigger?
>>52649052
Fuck no
Are you retarded?
A fucking Panerai is more sturdy than that.
>>52643123
All that would measure is the temp of your wrist right?
>>52649235
That sounds pretty fucking wrong.
>>52649310
Because it is. Tudor Pelagos is goat Tool Watch.
>>52649052
Wouldn't it make more sense to get a Grand Seiko homage since it's better built?
What the best looking Seiko 5?
>>52649460
Only /wt/ is insane enough to pay more than a grand for Jap watches.
>>52649476
>pleb filter initiated
if you can't appreciate the smooth sweep of a spring drive you're hopeless
>>52649578
It's literally a fancy quartz. At least Bulova didn't try to hide that fact with their Precisionist movement...
just bought this on ebay for 200 bucks.
What do you think?
>>52649904
That's literally not what the word literally means.
Also, Bulova still uses tons of tuning fork symbols even though they're quartz. They're trying to hide the fact that they use quartz much more than Seiko.
>>52650134
It's a really nice looking shit watch. I guess you did good if that's what you're into
>>52650305
I know they're not the same as the electric tuning fork movements, but just by the way a quartz crystal is also a tuning fork.
PS there is literally nothing wrong with quartz in any watch at any price point if the quartz movement is a good movement made with a level of care and craftsmanship befitting what you're paying and what you expect from the watch. And calling spring drive the same as quartz is pretty dumb too.
>>52650305
>Also, Bulova still uses tons of tuning fork symbols even though they're quartz
It's their logo anon. It's not like they're fooling anyone though, people who even know tuning fork watches existed are well aware none are made anymore.
>>52649052
>"tool" watch
Depends what you mean by that.
But you sure look like a tool wearing one.
>>52650459
When are you going to accept that your precious Seiko is never going to receive the same accolade that a Swiss watch commends?
>>52650350
I was looking for a chronograph, but mechanicals are too expensive for me right now.
This is a Certina quartz, and it's on the same level as tissot
>>52650554
I see Rolexes everyfucking where around me. 99% of the people wearing one do so because of the prestige of the brand, as well as the high price which obviously means "it's good", despite having no actual interest for "muh horlogerie".
It's about as nigger-tier as Hublot right now.
I don't wear Seikos, but still, why I have some affection for the Milgauss, I wouldn't wear any Rolex.
>>52637455
kek
>>52650449
And people who buy spring drive watches are well aware of the quartz "escapement".
>color matching the strap to the dial
Now THIS is haute horologie :^)
>>52650881
Plane p big
Draken (commemorative watch) when?
>>52650918
I wish, going to fix up that plane (just needs some servos and a receiver+battery then see where my financials stand
>>52650554
Oh fuck off. Watch autists would take normies recognizing their watch and according it "prestige" as an insult.
>>52646483
Got that exact same one.
Might get a scuba dude amphibian if i really enjoy this one.
>>52650592
>This is a Certina quartz, and it's on the same level as tissot, longines, omega etc., etc.
With ordinary quartz, quartz is quartz. There's nothing special about those movements so you might as well go cheap. Everything else is just a rip.
Thermocompensated and other high end interesting quartz (and even tuning fork type quartz) on the other hand is another matter.
You did good in that you didn't get as ripped off as some.
>>52650881
>those hairy arms
>obviously in florida
richard is that you?
we should hang out sometime.
>>52650644
Is Rolex the PS4 of watches? Fucking normies.
>lots of AirForce and other american military commemorative watches
>the mass amount of soviet watches
>tfw NO FUCKING CHERNOBYL WATCH
why must my dreams be smashed
>>52651176
i've only been searching for months but fucking finally found a couple, guess i never typed the right shit into google.
the movement on the left one only says "14581", not sure if that's a movement identification, or a serial number.
(these are mechs not auto)
>>52651251
Apparently it's a 15 jewel ZIM 2605
Probably going to be put into a shadow box with the liquidator pins i have.
Pretty excited to finally find a cherny watch.
>>52651251
Those seem to be aftermarket dials, tourist fodder. I'm not sure if the US would want to commemorate Three Mile Island.
manual slava
I find this one weirdly appealing
>>52651109
Nope, this is nick
>I'll still hang out though :^)
>>52651304
>Three Mile Island
dont get me started on that joke
no one even died, yes they had to clean the plant, but it was never that big a deal, the public just freaked the fuck out.
Soil samples outside the plant didnt even show shit, most radiation people got was like an xray dose.
And by the basic search i've done they very well might be legit, just not from the government but the liquidators started their own group, and probably had watches made, that had various chunks of memorabilia made.
All the random "tourist fodder" i have relating to cherny, reminds me how close we were to world wide devastation.
And a remembrance of the 3 firefighters who gave their life to save us all.
If we don't learn from history were doomed to repeat it.
>>52651416
wait, those arms now look really familiar
>Daytona
were you in ocala 2 weeks ago, and let me shoot your cetme, and uzi out in the forest? I never caught the guys name, i was way too fuckin happy he let me shoot the cetme.
>Russian watches are just resembled Chinese watches at a higher cost
>Vostok declares in house
>Tryhards being trolled in buying Cдeлaнo в Poccии
It arrived /wt/! I immediately swapped the bezel & strap. The bezel looks 100% better that the clunky standard one.
>>52651647
This was what the standard bezel was like. Pic from Google as I swapped without taking a picture.
>>52651563
Nope, go to university in Daytona, no real chance to own/get to shoot
>>52651696
yeah many vostok bezels are retarded
I don't even mind how this one looks but the dot one is much easier to use for relatively accurate timing in 5 minute segments, the red part on this one isn't really the most clear one
I'm in the market for something similar to a rolex day date with a budget around €200, is there any watch that is easily available unlike pic related?
>>52651783
There's also some citizen / Seiko SQs if you want to be serious.
>>52651696
>>52651647
Awesome mod which strap did you buy? How easy is it to swap the bezel?
>>52637351
I am singapoor. Why do you hate resin straps, anon? Issit because le plastik is poorfags? Out of all the straps I ever used, resin straps lasted the longest in sweaty hot tropical jungles. The only time my resin strap had to be replaced within 1 year, was when the metal buckle got bent out of shape. And that was a rare accident. Cloth/Nato straps either get moldy or tear within a year. Metal straps rust ridiculously fast unless I lock them up in an acid-free case and never wear them.
>>52651871
Oh and leather straps wear out even faster than the nato straps.
>>52651871
Buh lao, get tropical / racing natural rubber / sillicone strap if you want to, but most resin straps are shit.
If the bracelet is proper stainless steel rather than chromed chink pot metal or some nickel alloy, they won't rust unless you lace it with high carbon steel.
Vostok Amphiba or Vostok Komandirskie, which one should i pull the trigger on?
>>52651914
They were stainless steel , at least that's the specs and vendors said. Still rusted within months of wearing them.
>>52651962
There are actually a number of different metals that are marketed as stainless steel, and depending on Singapore's laws you may be able to pass off more as 'stainless.'
Make sure you're getting 316L steel.
>>52651961
You decide Anon, I'd go for an amphibia.
>want a day/date GMT
>can't find a single one
That isn't a digital Casio obviously. Why is that? I'm starting to think the reason is that no one bothered to make such a watch for it would ideally require two crowns.
>>52651840
I'd rather not buy steel bagelsport or Alpha because they are both total knockoffs and unreliable.
>>52651783
This one is also sexy but very hard to obtain
>>52652168
Alpha is the cheapest way you're going to get a decent mechanical chronograph
They're good watches
>>52652199
Allright, I'll look into it, thanks.
>>52652168
>I want something that looks like a DD besides the logo
>it can't be a knockoff
If you just said you want something with a full day display it'd be something else.
>>52652259
I believe there is a difference between a knock off and a homage, bagelsport does nothing but copy other watches but citizen or orient actually put is some effort.
>>52651610
>>Russian watches are just resembled Chinese watches at a higher cost
>>Vostok declares in house
Is this half-truth or just troll?
>>52652451
They have a really long factory spanning the russian chinese border, making them both in house and russian.
>>52652451
Vostok still make their watches on the same crusty old former Soviet production line they've been making them on for decades. They're really made in Russia the same as they always have been, the only change those watches have ever had in their entire production run was when they changed CCCP to POCCNN at the bottom of the dial. I'm not sure the factory workers have even noticed that the Soviet Union fell.
>>52652005
Thanks anon. Think i may pull the trigger on the Amphibia and swap the bezel and strap, maybe dial too but not to sure about removing the hands since i don't want to damage them. Thanks once again.
>>52650644
In where I live Panerai is a more common sight.
Is Seiko SKX007/9 the definitive best diver you can get under $300?
>I'm not sure the factory workers have even noticed that the Soviet Union fell.
I don't know why i find this so funny, kek
>>52650881
>that rolex-tier dial novel
Are the cheapestnatostraps natos any better than $1 chink natos?
>>52652594
Not definitive. The Orient Ray is about the same for cheaper, maybe better looking. The Vostok Amphibia handwinds and you can't really break the date mechanism. The Casio MDV106 is cheaper and quartz.
>>52651096
>a watch is only a movement
>>52652594
I think so, I love mine. I guess it's sort of up for debate and there are other good alternatives and not everybody likes the looks of the 007 but it's definitely at least a top contender.
>>52651846
I got one from eBay, just searched '18mm brown military strap'.
The bezel was really easy, it just pops off and the replacement pops on. Simples.
>>52638425
Thanks for caring anon. I started learning how to play the guitar which put additional stress on my left arm, so I stopped doing that too for now. I was wearing my watch on the other arm today and everything seems to be fine so far, I'll see what's gonna happen in a week or so.
