I really like the look of the Xiaomi Mi 4i, but I am slightly concerned about the built in Chinese botnet. Does anyone have one of these, and have you done any sort of security audit on it? Does it support Cyanogenmod or any other custom ROM with more security? I am having trouble finding any information on the wire.

I bought a metal model kit like this

In the shape of a tiger tank. Gotta say, I'm surprised how well it turned. It's basically I cute little 2-3 inch tiger that's shiny and chrome.

Got a knockoff Sebenza folding knife in titanium. Looks fly as fuck. Was super sharp and feels very nice quality. My knifefag friend who owns a Sebenza had a look at it and actually thought it was the real deal.

If I'm reading this right, the red note beats the other two, correct?

Bumping for interest. Want to pick up some cool chinese gadgets, but have no idea what is good. Can't really trust the reviews.

Also, would be interested if anyone knows where I can find a good pair of Ray Ban Clubmaster knockoffs. I've picked up a couple that had good reviews, but they were all cheap garbage.

How do these sound compared to the built in sound card? I want to use these to make a usb speaker for my laptop
>>
>>52637777
>usb speaker for laptop
Why not just use the audio jack in the laptop already? Also, you might run into an issue over drivers.
>>
>>52637451

Just search Sebenza titanium. There are many on there. You can look at the pictures and tell which are the good ones.
>>

Anyone know of a cheap lagfree mixer I can get from china?

I just want to mix together TV audio (from a console) with ipod or computer audio. and running the audio output into the PC and running parec|pacat introduces lag.

Looking for some cheap chink headphones. Others have recommended the KZ ATE's. Any good?
>>
>>52638552
I have the ATE and the ZS1. They are ok but if you are looking for something better I would save up and buy something better.
>>
>>52637818
I want to power it from the usb, but I can save one wire and have audio come from the USB too.
>>
Are there good chinkphones that run android, and are also flip phones?
>>
>>52638024
The tracks took me a long time, but as long as you take your time and don't mind small fiddly bits it's allright. I don't put together many things, so it was fun for me. Just gotta be wary of sharp edges and not to put too much force on the pins.

It's pretty decent, got it for £35 on ebay.
>>
>>52639927
They're great, just make sure you have a couple of good batteries and a charger.
Mine just died after 3 years (dropped it and the front glass popped off), so I'm looking for a new one.
>>
>>52639927
pretty good, i use one as a headlight on my bike, and it works ok sometimes it doesn't turn on but hit it and it's fine, but for £3 it's a great torch.
>>
>>52640043
you have to be careful with the LI-ION batteries just as they can overheat the torch and they do work fine with normal AA batteries.
>>
>>52640107
My one was an xml-t6, with an 18650 battery. I'm pretty sure an aa won't fit in that.

Also get the lithium only ones, the aa ones will run off a 14500 but will overheat like shit.

Anyone have any experience with A- panel or Korean monitors? I'm thinking of getting this monoprice one (http://www.monoprice.com/product?c_id=113&cp_id=11307&cs_id=1130703&p_id=10489&seq=1&format=2) or this qnix monitor (http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-QNIX-QX2414-Real-144Hz-24-LED-1920x1080-Full-HD-1-5ms-FPS-Gaming-PC-Monitor-/141715022921?hash=item20fedfa449:g:d3kAAOSwPcVVmj5o).

I have the opportunity to buy the monoprice one for $200. Which one is better? Can you speed up the refresh rate on the monoprice one?

>>
I'll never have cold hands again.
>>
>>52641219
I'm still using the crossover 27" i bought 4 years ago and it's fine.

Had to change the power brick once though.

IIRC, monoprice is just rebranded korean shit, and overclocking refresh rate is a crapshoot.

>>
Anyone use generic sd cards?
$30 for 128 gigs seems a bit too good to be true
>>
>>52645394
A lot of cheap unbranded SD cards don't actually contain the promised amount of storage and puts your data at risk of corruption

I believe all cards above 32 GB marked "SDHC" and not "SDXC" are unreliable. They'll show up as 128 gb or whatever when viewed with a file explorer but once their real capacity is reached they start overwriting old data

It's up to you whether you want to take that risk
>>
>>52645394
because it's fake. spend an extra $5 and buy it from amazon.
>>
>>52645451
Shit, I didn't know they got so cheap
I almost bought a 64 gb for $30 when amazon has 128 for $35
>>
>>52645218
it's probably made in the same place monoprice gets theirs from.

just slap a different logo on it and rebrand.

>>52640005
how's it quality wise, and does it come with a pen? i've been looking to drop some dosh on a tablet for drawing, but don't really want to shell out a ton of cash for all the name brands everyone shills for.
>>
>>52645394
Usually those are 256mb (or other small size) cards that have been modified to display as larger. Everything after the real capacity will corrupt.
>>
>>52638607
If you run the 3.5mm jack through a usb soundcard the speakers wont magically get powered. are you trolling?
>>
>>52645580
They won't but he's going to need a USB DAC if he wants to draw audio through USB you mongoloid
>>
>>52637818
The drivers for these external audio cards are pretty much universal, so chances of running into driver problems in crazy low
>>
>>52645394
Only buy branded ones, and check for legit reviews with proof. Ordered 2 32GB Transcend microSD's and they are the correct size, and gonna gamble on some "Mixza" Brand 64GB microSD's.

Looking for a nice small AP/router to embed in a project.
wr703n's are hard as fuck to find in good shape these days, was looking between http://www.gearbest.com/networking-communication/pp_47330.html

and

http://www.gearbest.com/networking-communication/pp_270587.html?currency=AUD&gclid=Cj0KEQiAz5y1BRDZ4Z_K_eGa84cBEiQAtQkeaOYSBi20DdNPWcwXUo3BwygL5olXab1VNu2DDJFA8JoaAmUD8P8HAQ

Think I'll get the latter, but still digging on the specs.

These are also interesting:
