i don't see much of an issue, especially with dx12 around the corner.
right now, 2gpus are really just to make damn sure you don't go under 60fps at 1080p or 1440p, and 4gb is more than enough, and when dx12 rolls around, the card is now 8gb (if the devs aren't shit)

In most applications the memory is mirrored accross the two GPUs so it won't give you any benefit of having it twice.
