But it is not a good thing from a usability standpoint either.
Serving up adds is slow, people who want amazon products usually just go the the amazon website, not use the tool they use for launching applications and finding files.
The search in gnome and kde, cinnamon and mate are all much better and a lot more usable implementations.
kde has the best tool right now, but the way it is implemented, you can't really use it on something else than plasma.

A lot of people can't afford to spend hours fixing shit. Most of the time they want to get actual work done. Arch is a great learning experience but I wouldn't call it an everyday OS because of how unstable it can get.
