To YT, content creators are a dime a dozen. They only care about the shitty ones at the top (pewdiepie, jenna marbles, etc).
At least half of the channels I sub have been a victim of YT's automated copyright enforcement system throwing a false positive. It's easily provable that it was a false positive, but YT literally doesn't give a shit. Paying someone to investigate isn't worth the risk, so every false positive gets taken down and there's no recourse.
There's no reason for them to take the risk because there aren't any worthy competitors, and any content creator that says "lol bye" will just get replaced with 5 more.
I can think of two solutions. The first would be a site that directly competes with YT, backed by Yahoo or something. The second would be if content creators from each major genre left YT and made their own video sites. If neither of these happen, YT is going to very gradually become cable TV.
