I'd just like to interject for a moment...
Classic Shell fixes the start menu UI for 2 or 3 versions in a row now. That's ridiculous.
It always amazes me every time I switch from Windows back to Linux how much faster and arguably better looking for desktops Linux is, but i wish i had the software catalogue of Windows. It makes me want to use OSX to see if it's a decent middle ground.

Anti-Virus tools are a thread to security, cause they run in kernel mode and increase the attack surface by doing retarded shit that can often be exploited. They do not bring real security cause they only prevent malware that is already known. It only protects you from being retarded by downloading and executing arbitrary binaries (a windows user problem), or not patching your system (a windows user problem).

Win7 isn't really bad. I just had problems with the install because was using USB 3.0 which Win10 works np. If anons are that scarred about botnet, then it's still a good choice. 8 sucks balls though and I tried hard to like it.
The NSA botnet aside, the UI is rubbish, control panel and settings menus are bollocks, compatibility with legacy software is ass (even more so than 8.x), there are literally "apps", it's unoptimized as shit and requires debloating to even use properly, the list can go on and on.

I'm using Windows 10 at work and updates (that I had turned off) broke the entire OS. Nothing works properly anymore.
When i bought a new laptop back in 2011 it came with windows 8 and i hated it immediately and installed windows 7 and i swore i would never see another windows OS be as bad as windows 8, Then windows 10 came out and christ almighty fuck i can honestly say i had rather use windows 8 than 10.
I prefer the increased software compatibility of Ubuntu to Trisquel even though it doesn't respect my freedoms quite as much.
