Classic Shell fixes the start menu UI for 2 or 3 versions in a row now. That's ridiculous.

It always amazes me every time I switch from Windows back to Linux how much faster and arguably better looking for desktops Linux is, but i wish i had the software catalogue of Windows. It makes me want to use OSX to see if it's a decent middle ground.

It's not free, and I'm unemployed living with my parents so money is tight
It doesn't challenge me mentally. Since I don't have a job or many interesting hobbies, I like to spend my time configuring my kernel and compiling my own programs
It's too mainstream. I don't have a lot going on to differentiate me from other peers in my cohort, so I like to use niche operating systems in hopes to seem less dull

m8 the windows 10 settings UI is basically the settings menu Mac and Linux have been using for years, just with FLAT and GRAY, and everything is obnoxiously huge as a cheap workaround for proper DPI support, and so it works on tablets

I'd honestly rather they just did the same as Mac and Linux instead of doing their weird "IT'S FUCKING NOTHING" design approach

Yes it is free if you upgrade from Windows 7 or 8.1 and it is the most secure with the highest-quality in-built virus removal tool. Plus it's almost un-hackable as well due to this.
>>
>>52609330
Installed in on day 1 and I love it.

Only people that have problems with Windows 10 are tech illiterate retards that should just fuck off to macs and consoles, anyway.

By the way here is a patch that fixes another 87 CVEs we've already been knowing about for several months but didn't have the time to fix yet.

>almost un-hackable
Unless you run a software that intercepts downloads and injects malware cause there still isn't a secure and encrypted way to download most windows software in 2016.

>highest-quality in-built virus removal tool
Anti-Virus tools are a thread to security, cause they run in kernel mode and increase the attack surface by doing retarded shit that can often be exploited. They do not bring real security cause they only prevent malware that is already known. It only protects you from being retarded by downloading and executing arbitrary binaries (a windows user problem), or not patching your system (a windows user problem).

>>

>My god...the boot times on this thing.
Same effect with win7/8.1 on an SSD.
>>
>>52611895

Was referring to how happy I am with my first SSD. I'm sure Win7/8 the same.

Win7 isn't really bad. I just had problems with the install because was using USB 3.0 which Win10 works np. If anons are that scarred about botnet, then it's still a good choice. 8 sucks balls though and I tried hard to like it.
>>
The NSA botnet aside, the UI is rubbish, control panel and settings menus are bollocks, compatibility with legacy software is ass (even more so than 8.x), there are literally "apps", it's unoptimized as shit and requires debloating to even use properly, the list can go on and on.

If you promote the use of Windows 10, you're either not technologically inclined or are a paid shill.

Windows or Linux will never have OSX font rendering.

FONT RENDERING RANKINS
1. OSX
2. LINUX
3. WINDOWS

>>
>>52612029
Actually I agree. That OS X font rendering is really good. And yeah, Linux second for font.
>>
its a meme os that is literally a more bloated windows 8.1

it hasnt made much of any dent in windows 7 users globally. its still the leader by a long ways. windows 10 is at like 10% of windows users globally

and everything microcrap shills said wasnt the case is the case. windows 10 has a embedded key logger and scans files on your computer and sends microsoft data constantly

its actually considered spy ware by china and in europe would probably kill peoples internet usage where data usage plans are common. you got more than 50 gigs of shit on your puter? well i hope you dont mind not using the internet for the next 3 years because windows 10 will keep sending shit non stop as long as it has a connection

Microsoft's design philosophy seems to be that the software ui should always be the focus of the users attention. Whereas I've always thought that the content should be the focus.

Are you retarded, with ModernUI guidelines, there's pretty much nothing but the concent to focus on. Unlike the horrible skeuoshit still going on on Linux. Even apple abandoned it..
