For that kind of setup you want a bunch of low-power single slot cards that allow you to stuff as many in there as you can, or free up expansion slots for other cards.

could a 950 (which has 3 DP 1.2 ports) handle 3 4K monitors? I have a GTX 970 handling 2 4K monitors, but i was an idiot and bought one with just 1 DP port and 1 HDMI port (and some DVI ports), so i'm planning on replacing it with a video card that actually supports 3 (or maybe 4) 4k monitors for desktop use in case i get a third.

If you want a "low" card why not just read your card some life questioning poems or put it in the basement. Perhaps you want a card with diabetes so its sugar can get low!

The gamer cards have multiple DPs but I think there are also workstation cards, possibly more expensive, I would go with the gaming cards if you don't need special drivers
