Post sexy M-ITX cases.
Eyeing an NCase M1 but wondering what else is out there that's equally as sexy.

how about something sexier?

Where the hell are the hard drives hiding?

>>52557226
That is one sexy case. I always worry about the heavy air coolers though. It is literally the only reason i got liquid cooling, because one of my old motherboards (asus p5q) died to loose solder joints caused by my Scythe Mugen.
>>52557268
does it come with the GPU riser?
>>52557366
yes
That fucking case has been in dev for over 3 years. It's not going to be out until end of the year, guaranteed.
>>52557403
the ncase has been available for years m8
>>52557412
Talking about that Dan case
How much does something like this cost? I want to do something like this
>>52557425
ah, yeah, it seems like every time I see it on here, it's gone through some huge design overhaul or something
dude really just needs to release a v1.0 already and go from there
>>52557450
ncase runs for $185
>>52557268
Eh, it's kawaii but I'd rather have the option for better CPU coolers / watercooling than save a few inches.
How much does the riser cable add to the price?
This is my beauty of a computer
>>52557490
>This is my jet engine of a computer
>>52557490
There's not any issues caused by a PCI-E cable being that long?
Honestly, not much beats ncase m1. Unless you really dig a look of something else, it can't get too much better for the size.
Here's mine it's an EVGA hadron air
>>52557616
Where is the PSU?
>>52557634
On the bottom it looks like, one of those slimline PSUs I forget what they're called.
>>52557640
That particular PSU is a unique form factor and comes with the case. It's a 500W Gold-rated unit.
>>52557634
Underneath the gpu, it's a custom psu that comes with the case, it's a 500w, gold rated, and modified server psu i think
http://www.xigmatek.com/product.php?productid=219
>>52557548
Nope. Runs perfectly fine. No issues. >>52557511
Literally more quiet than when I had a custom water loop on a different build.... I don't mind a feint hum over a fucking fish tank
>>52557640
>>52557739
It's a 1U server PSU.

why would you even think of getting any other mITX?
>>52558376
Cheap, nasty plastic, ugly as fuck handle. Lots of reasons bro.
>>52557268
I WANT THIS N0wW!
>>52558399
>cheap, nasty plastic
most of the case is metal and the plastic is relatively high quality. are you basing this on the pic or what?
is there an ITX case that doesn't require watercooling (can house a decent heatsink) and isn't fatter than a standard mATX mini tower?
>>52558376
Ugly cheap piss
>>52558399
>>52558469
samefag
Get the fractal define mini, the cable management on these is not worth the effort
>>52558399
Partially this. If the handle it made of anodized steel or something sturdy I would.
There's a special lab in my school where there are only monitors inside; bring your own computer, keyboard and mouse.
Some neckbeards hobo near the lab and they have a whole ATX case in there. Some people just bring their laptops and plug into the monitors for dual screen. I'm given a locker that might be just big enough for a very compact ITX case.
>they fell for the mini ITX meme
I'm going to be buying one of these for my htpc because it appears to be the smallest case that supports a full size 5.25" external, 3.5" internal, and 2.5" internal and has usb 3.0
>>52558501
its pretty tough plastic. I wish it were metal but with all the components inside the handle just barely bows at all. I imagine you'd have to fill the case with lead or violently swing it around before the handle had any risk of breaking
>>52557226
>main focus is cooler and gpu

>not a meme
He's right. The only reason mITX exists is to get people to spend money on shit they think they need but they really don't.
>>52559472
Who the fuck wants a big case?
>>52559483
Who the fuck cares how big their desktop is? Do you live in a cardboard box?
>>52559483
You DONT need a big case. The issue with these tiny mitx cases is that you sacrifice cooling and silence for a negligible of volume.
When it's all said and done the small novelty will wear off and you're left with an overpriced tiny loud hotbox with no expandability. But hey you can still occasionally fish for compliments from strangers online right?
>>52558376
it's nice to have a good looking computer and all, but what you really need is a good connection. Like, 230 down.
>>52559513
>Not putting your case on your desk
Enjoy that dust
>>52559543
Nope.
If you buy a good case, then you shouldn't have that problem. My Prodigy with a 212 Evo idles at 32 on the hottest days and doesn't go over 52 degrees full load.
If you buy a super small meme cube, sure. There are cases though. The Prodigy, the Air 240, the Phanteks Enthoo Evolv to name a few.
>>52559543
>You DONT need a big case. The issue with these tiny mitx cases is that you sacrifice cooling and silence for a negligible of volume.
Not really. My little hotbox doesn't run any hotter than if it were in a full size case. I can't provide any evidence though because I am not home but when running an x265 encode using all 8 threads and running fallout 4 at the same time, nothing gets hotter than 70C and the drives are steady at 35C. When idle, everything is around 30C.
>When it's all said and done the small novelty will wear off and you're left with an overpriced tiny loud hotbox with no expandability. But hey you can still occasionally fish for compliments from strangers online right?
What sort of expandability are we talking about here? With my ITX board, I can still upgrade my cpu (although I'm already on a 4770k so there are no worthwhile upgrades), wifi (again on ac and dual gigabit so no upgrades), ram, video card, and it has two open sata 3 ports (4 total). I'd say it's very upgradable.
That being said, I'm still going to cram it all in a smaller box as soon as I can.
>>52559621
Your fucking shit prodigy is 36 liters accounting for the feet. There are ATX cases out there that are 40 liters.
You don't have have an itx build, you have an itx motherboard inside an ATX case. You're the biggest cuck there is.
Whats the best mini-itx case that has 4+ 3.5" hard drive slots? Could someone suggest more than 1 case?
>>52559649
4l is the equivalent of 2 milk bottles you sperg. That's huge, hence why he went with mitx
>>52559649
Nope. There's an ITX prodigy and an mATX.
Show me one ATX case that's as small that is superior. You can't. I have an HAF 932 build and it idles at the same temps.
>>52559674
Learn how surface area works. The difference will be half an inch wider/longer at most.
That being said the itx case in the op is 12 liters. The prodigy is 36 liters.
That's the equivalent of 12 milk bottles.
>>52557477
If that's the case you should be using micro atx.
>>52559854
Still waiting you fuk
>>52559543
There's literally no point in buying large cases anymore. The days of being 14 years old are over.
I used to think like you. "M-Maybe if I buy a big case with lots of mesh and fans, it'll be super cool!". The first case I built with was an HAF 922, it was fine. I didn't go over 45 degrees while playing the most intense vidya at the time.
Last year I decided to upgrade, I always wanted a small system so I made a mATX build with an Air 240. Not sure if I'll ever go back family. The case is made so well, it's basically a 540 but without the size. Cable management is literally done for you, there's tons of space, it's cute and compact and fits any PSU, GPU or cooler.
>>52559621
>Not putting your case on your desk
My Define R4 is on my desk, faggot. Because I don't live in a bedsit and have room for it.
>>52561685
>Fractal
>Needing a case that big
Large cases are only good if you use them to their fullest potential. Most people I see with big cases are just memers who keep everything stock for years.
There's literally no reason for big cases other than being a 'sperg and installing a 3 fan air cooler, 3 HDDs, a couple SSDs and a meme set of graphics cards. If you honestly don't use all your expansion, then you just cuck'd yourself.
>>52557226
I see the cooler, gpu, etc.
Whats that in front? A radiator? Really one of the best looking builds I've seen.
>>52561814
It's just a custom cover for an ATX PSU. Looks real neat though.
>>52561852
I see.
I really like the idea, but no room for a 980ti kind of sucks.
>>52561871
You can fit a 980 Ti just fine in the M1, you just gotta use an SFX PSU. There's a line of new ones with 92mm fans coming out as well as a 700W SFX-L that's 80+ Platinum rated.
>>52557355
The NCase is literally a placebo.
I was considering getting one, then I saw it was $185. No thanks. You're basically paying $185 for a case that is going to get shitty temps.
People are complaining about atx cases being too big, the NCase is too small.
>>52557268
>>52557280
I WANT THIS
>>52557226
Fuck thats sexy.
My m-itx system is a white bitfenix prodigy. I like it, but I think I could do better.
>>52561900
How would that cool? I'm not sure there's any afternarket fans in 92mm.
>>52561949
I'm not sure what you mean, there are tons of aftermarket fans in 92mm and there has been for years and years. I was talking about the new line of SFX power supplies from Silverstone that use 92mm fans instead of 80mm like the previous generation. Corsair also has one coming out.
If you're talking about the Ncase, it has a total of four 120mm fan mounts and a 92mm at the rear.
I use a thermal take core v1. It's good but I feel its extremely spacious and not particularly great temps. Any suggestions? I dont like the ncase and the price isn't worth it when it's like a 3rd of the price of my 980ti
>>52561991
Nice, ty for the info.
I love my sg13
it's my first build but I'm excited to put a 980ti or a future equivalent in it when I get the money
>>52559854
You don't need mATX for better cooling. You can fit two fucking rads into a Ncase if you really want to. There's also that OCN Splash case that's made for two rads.
>>52562408
Post it
The Ncase? You can easily google OCN Splash.
>>52557268
>>52557280
This design is already deprecated. There's absolutely no need to make a compact case like that which accommodates for full length GPUs. We already have Nano and Fury X and Pascal will be just as compact.
These cases will cool just as well and are even smaller.
http://imgur.com/a/TLaX9
http://nfc-systems.com/s4-mini/
Only issue is the PicoPSUs might not accommodate high end hardware yet but there's going to be great gains in perf/watt next gen. It will be easily doable then.
>>52561814
>>52561852
It's actually a Scythe Himuro 3.5" HDD enclosure, placed rather oddly in the front of the case (you can't normally mount a HDD like that in the case). You'd have to use an SFX PSU for that to fit like that, but this build was done purely for show and if you look closely at the rest of the pics, you can just make out that there isn't even a PSU installed.
I think that fan should be a high static pressure one not a through put one
Like pic
>>52563160
That's a shitty, noisy SP fan. If not Noctuas, then Cougars, Fractals Venturis, Cooler Master Silencio, and Phanteks should be the way to go.
Corsair is literal memes.
>>52562047
What case is this?
>>52564275
It's a modified Cubitek Mini Cube
The guy did a pretty sweet job with it IMHO.

>>52562408
The point is that if the absolute smallest form factor isn't the primary concern you aren't gaining by going itx over matx. Once you start making room for radiators and standard desktop psus you end up with a case that should be able to fit the slightly larger (and cheaper) main board.
>>52565839
if anybody is going mITX the smallest form factor is their primary concern
>>52561813
I use all mine, but that's because I don't have usb3 and sata3 onboard
>>52566027
My little brother's itx build ended up the same size as my micro atx that had a closed loop cooler for the cpu (I've since swithed to air cooled).
Most itx cases out there (in my experience) aren't that small. Once you get out of the super compact builds there isn't much point to the form factor.
Only iyx build I bothered with was a dedicated browsing/media/homework machine. Pentium dual core, 4gb ram.
My main machine is in a fractal r5 using all hdd bays and making full use of the large CPU cooler clearance.
>>52566308
>Most itx cases out there (in my experience) aren't that small.
That's pretty irrelevant, you can say the same for mATX being the same size as many ATX cases which is also the case.
We're comparing ITX cases that actually fit the form factor in this thread and there aren't any mATX cases that come close to what's being posted here.
There are a bunch of ridiculously cool small form factor cases that are coming out soon.
One that has caught me interest lately is the set top box sort of style.
Here's one such example,
The !nverse SFF case

>>52566516
Good for you anon
Is there an ITX case that uses an external power supply like the ones used on a laptop, but has half-sized PCI brackets?
What do you actually do with a Mini ITX rig? I mean yeah they are small but a full ATX board in a mid tower isn't very big to begin with. Take my S340, it doesn't take very much space because like mini rigs it lacks support for legacy drives.
>>52562980
This is sexy but it will run awfully hot and because of that the fans are going to be at full speed, that thing will sound like a vacuum cleaner.
>>52566749
a case with proper airflow will run just as cool as any mid-full tower, tiny cases like >>52557226 >>52557268 >>52557280 >>52558376 >>52561749 >>52562465 are the reason to go mITX. There are plenty of retards who go for "mITX" cases that have so much wasted space they might as well not be mITX though
>>52566709
HD-Plex has a bunch that works with their AD/DC converter. There's also some other HTPC cases that probably have it. Try Streacom.
Why do you want a half sized PCI anyway? Can't be for a GPU, IGP is as good as any low profile board.
>>52566964
>Why do you want a half sized PCI anyway?
Turning a Pentium SoC ITX board into a router.
>>52558490
I have this case, but it is hardly small form factor.
>>52567005
I see, a better bet is one of those cheaper cases that come with a integrated PSU imo
