Are you a solider, a construction worker or just someone that need an incredibly resilient device for telling the time?

Nignogs can't afford them, or any watches really. You usually see the massive ones on the manlet wrists of those asian wannabeblack hiphop niggers though.

If you're not this you're fine. If you are, nothing said on here could help you. Ever.

You know, that the fact that it's made in China doesn't make it bad, right?
The movement is an in-house movement made in Beijing Watch Factory, which is a highly respected factory which produces a lot of great pieces.

It's okay to not know this, as it's sort of an obscure brand anyway, but to simply call it "gook watch" is undermining it.
>>
>>52532837

Well if I ever get a huge quantity of shekels again I'll buy a custom Sinn

If I wanted to be needlessly tacticool though I'd get a PVD Timex and put it on a multicam NATO strap, Crown and Buckle did a nice one. Or if I had to live up to my autism and have a mechanical watch on there it'd be something with a non screw down crown but with hacking seconds and 100 meter WR. Problem is most that would live up to that would be Bell and Ross dogshit

>>
>>52533893
I never understood this. All you need is a nice leather strap and a rubber strap for a Panerai?
I really like the base model with the sub seconds at 9 and I plan to buy it one day; but fuck these "panarisi" faggots.
>>
>>52533148
In all honesty this is the best option
If someone told me I'd be getting as many compliments or more from an aliexpress dw than I am with my other watches I'd save quite a bit of money
>>
>>52534316

Oh my friend trust me I'm not recommending B and R. Not by a long shot it's just expensive "Swiss" nonsense aimed at nouveau riche CODKIDDIES

I'm saying I'm an autist and if I had a watch that was tacticool, I'd have to put it on a multicam NATO meme strap. And if I went that far it would have to be mechanical/automatic. At which point I'd want PVD and 100 meter WR and hacking seconds and non screw down crown. At which point I'm sad because only Bell and Ross makes such watches. I wish more watches had good automatic movements and non screwdown crowns. And I say this as a Sinn and Damasko owner and lover
>>

>>
>>52534594
The Halbert hands are just so loud and nontraditional.

They look so odd. And don't really fit in an otherwise dressy watch
>>
>>52533205

All but the movement they manufacture themselves anyway. Each time I've contacted them I've had a prompt reply. I was in touch before about ordering a leather strap, and I had it at my door about two days later. Great service.

Pics of 856? I was going to get a 756 chrono initially but preferred the more old-fashioned look of the 144.
>>
>>52534641
I get what you're saying, the Yue Fei is really a second choice to the Imperial if am unable to get one, even though the hands look odd, I've always admired Celadon's attempts to do something different with their watches.

I gave my 36mil DW fake to my dad who likes it because he's the kind of guy that doesn't even set date wheels. This watch is the one people have noticed more than any other because it's such an odd design. A round circle with two hands isn't going to be noteworthy to most people.

I'm curious what the newer fakes with the blue hands and date wheel look like. The only photos the aliexpress stores have are taken from the DW site.

I'll get some pics of it with my DA44 Black this weekend; right now I'm at work and they're at home and I won't be going home for a few more days

It's a beauty though if you're still here in a few days I'll be sharing more pictures

Here's an old pic though. Its not on that strap anymore though I fell for the custom straps meme and found out it isn't worth it really.

How much was the strap? I'm in canuckistan and the freedom dollar is BTFOing ours. My Sinns original strap is nearing the end of its life and I'd like to buy a Sinn strap but with shipping tax and conversion it would cost me literally 160 dollars or more from Watchbuys.

I know about rhe movements, only Damasko, Glashutte Original and Nomos seem to be making their own movements for the mass market these days. And I'm very wary of the latter two as the Glashutte Originals are Literally charging you 10x the price for upgraded, decorated German Democratic Republic movements produced the recently whilst Nomos are just modified Peseux made in Glashutte.

Actually seriously privatization of Glashutte by Swatch worst day of my life, we will never have a reasonably priced made in Germany on German movements watxh again because of the everything made under communism is bad meme and Swatch got their filthy mountain Jew paws on the company.

Steinhart as has been noted is OK but their shipping takes forever and very clearly they have large amounts of Chinese production. Still for less than a K I'd find it hard to get a Valjoux 7750 elsewhere

To be honest I'd save a bit more and get a used Sinn 356 for about 1250 or something along those lines

However as a former Steinhart owner I will say that the blue hands look very cheap imo compared to real heat blued ones, truly Parnis tier (which are pretty good for 100 petroshekels but bad for 300+)

What's the WR rating on that case?

All I can find when I casually search for watch parts are cheap Chinese kits.

Myself I'd probably make a normal diver around a miyota 9015, seems pretty cost effective, though I'd probably want to make more than one watch to justify the cost of tools

Yeah nah, when my 36mm datejust style watch got called out looking like a toy watch by a girl (size), I expanded my range. And no intimidation, but due to my size it will look small. Thats just fact. But yes 40mm looks small on you 7 inch guy, if you have any mass at all. But most people dont care about watches...

Pretty rad, but I got such bad hands to place the hands so I would fuck it up. Always wanted to but I dont have the motor skills for that. I do crystals and casebacks etc small stuff but no whole watches due to that.

Just get the damn watch then. Look into Panerai too, you're pretty much exactly their target demographic.
>>
>>52536287
The rating from manufacturer is 300m. It's on ofrei. Actual water resistance depends on how well you seal the back and screw-in crown/pushers. Greasing the gaskets would improve the resistance too. I've done some sink immersion tests (without movement inside just in case) on it but that's about it. I think that case cost around $120. There are really good german cases you can buy but they usually go around >280 euros or whatever they use in deutschland.

If a girl thinks it looks unmasculine, thats a bad thing you know. Or maybe it doesnt fit my image.

My problem isn't that it's thick, it's that it LOOKS very thick because it has ugly unrefined flat sides. Yeah if you put calipers on it you'll find that it's about the same thickness as anything else but it looks like a big fat bitch.

They carefully ticked all the boxes for what makes a plain "nice" watch but they forgot to actually make it elegant and refined and not boring. I hate to beat a dead SARB for the millionth time but I think it's a perfect counterpart to the Visodate, and notice how the case has some details and different finishes and curves which give it a little extra even though they're both simple plain average sized white dialed stick index 3-handers with (day-)date that nobody would ever look twice at on your wrist.

Some of the other smart watches out there work with the iPhone such as the moto 360 for instance. I got the Apple Watch because as much as I hate it I've become a Macfag over the years and I had been looking at getting a new watch for quite some time and decided to go with the Apple Watch because muh technology desu.

I like watches and I like tech and this really combines the two plus I have the added bonus of it constantly reminding me to get off my fat ass and do some exercise which as bad as it is has helped me lose quite a bit of weight since I got my first Apple Watch back when it launched. I'm still a fat fuck but not quite as bad as I was.

I hardly ever use alarm timers or stopwatches, and I got a phone to do that.

I might be mistaken, but I think you either get a watch around 10 €/$ with a cheap standard china quartz clockwork, which isn't bad, or something above the 4,000 $/€ mark with handcrafted clockwork. The rest is just fancy design and higher markup with a 10$ quartz clockwork.

Other movements might require much more movement to start or to keep charging

You have Tisell stretching 200$ just about as far as it will go, with Seiko and Orient doing okay at that price range.

At 300$ or so you have a few microbrands like Obris Morgan and Bernhardt

Above that you have the higher end Orient and Seiko divers, as well as many other microbrands using Miyota and some ETA movements.

it's going to be hard to find a "real" swiss brand at that price range though, just some people using ETA movements and perhaps exploiting the Swiss Made laws

Oh damn, you got me. I'll be crying in my mud hut all night.
>>
>>52541229
Thought so, Oumar.
I hope you realized that this thread isn't for you.
>>
>>52541080
I'd just get the Obris Morgan Explorer in that price range.
>>
>>52541265
Nigga the average watch in these threads is probably $100-$200. Let's not pretend this is some exclusive club

Save up a bit more and get a Christopher ward trident.
Gorgeous watch with a great movement that's easily and cheaply serviced.

I'm jelly anon, nice piece. Does it have a stainless steel case like mine or is it chromed brass?

>>52541143
You won't believe me but I won it on an eBay auction for just 130€ shipped, the auction didn't have many bidders because the seller misspelled the name and he wasn't even sure what he was selling. Greatest bargain of my life.
Came with a really cool leather strap that I replaced because I ruined it with a grease stain while having lunch.

Poor G-Shock inventor guy. He probably isn't allowed to wear anything else but a G-Shock. He just wants to wear a nice analog on a leather.
>>
>>52541425
Good shit
I love good auctions like that.
I got a few thinkpads for super cheap and just yesterday won an alpha for $150.
I need a manskie in my life though

>I'd love an Omega, but I'd be sweating like a Jew in an oven getting it serviced.
If you fell for the co-axial meme, sure.
So not worth the increased maintenance costs over their older, ETA derived 1120 calibre.

I will never understand why Seiko make their Sumos and Tunas so fucking gigantic. 45mm is way too big and bulky for normal users.
>>
>>52538638
They're already available from the Korean only website, flick them an email and they'll let you buy one.

Do you have a link please? Not seeing them on http://tisell.kr/front/php/category.php?cate_no=7

>>
>>52541616
That's the Parnis category champ
>>
>>52541620
No, only mechanicals are worth owning unless it's some nice digital or tool watch like a Tissot T-Touch or Suunto Core.
>>
>>52541620
Yes. And this >>52541633 is one of them.
>>
>>52541642
how is it shit?
>>
>>52541642
Ok kid.
>>
>>52541523
Because they're supposed to be for divers.
You need massive watches with fat bezels so that your gloved hands can operate them.

>>52541651
I'd argue there's a few Grand Seikos with complicated quartz movements that are worth woning.

Of course. If you want a cheap no stress watch, a budget chrono etc it makes sense.

There was only a short window where luxury quartz was a thing before the mountain jews returned to muh mechanical heritage but there are many collectible models.
>>
>>52541657
Ouch. Right in the feels.

>>52541656
It's boring and flimsy as fuck.
That's not a watch that'll last you a lifetime.
Might as well buy a fucking smart watch.

Alright, you're just a fucking idiot now. I assume you haven't seen a drawer full of working 80's plastic LCD watches.

You're in the Parnis category.
You need to be looking in the Tisell category.
